@Mop it up I mean the excursion while in there was a sidequest, not being in there. I think if you just wait a bit and not talk to Horace, your savior shows up. I could be wrong though, just seemed that way to me at the time.

..... no one wants to try and answer my questions?

I haven't played this in a couple weeks. I gotta get back to it, because I was enjoying it!

Same here. I got stuck on a boss fight and stopped. I need to try to get back to it this weekend.

@NinSage

Woah I'm sorry man! I guess I let it fly because at the time I didn't have a clear answer.. you have already played it more then I have - I've just gone through the game once..

1: I always thought they were destined for each other because their ancestors families were destined for each other. Kinda like Zelda/Link in some of the games.. always made to find each other in some way but not a guarantee. They are not related in any way. Even if they were, the line would be so far removed (a la 50th cousin) to worry about anything.

2. I thought his wound (the Counts) were from a major battle and never put a second thought into it. However, because of his search for power, I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to dabble in some magic and failed big time.

Those are my thoughts!
Cheers!

@nate38 Ah, my mistake. That's a good question, I'll have to look that up after I finish the game.

Ugh, I came across another glitch during chapter 20. When Horace got captured by the black skeleton and I went back to the coffins to retrieve him, he just kept laying in there and didn't jump out. So I went to save (in a different slot) and reload, and then it looked like he was back in my party... except he wasn't moving and didn't follow me. I ended up having to reload an earlier save.

This is the fourth glitch to bar my progression... so far!

Ouch! Four glitches?? Man either I was lucky or your game is a lemon..

Anyone else having glitches in this game??
10/19/12, 22:20
Yeah, I don't recall hearing people talk about glitches in this game, so I think I'm just unlucky. I did look them up though, so I can confirm that I wasn't missing anything and they were indeed glitches.

Are there any missable chapters in this game? I see they are not always in order, as I completed 24 before I did 22 and 23, but I don't recall seeing a chapter 21. It's possible I just didn't noticed it displayed if I already played it, or is that a side chapter I haven't found yet?

Worst glitch I encountered was when I couldn't reach a coin drop because it got left on a ledge I couldn't jump over..(it was the biggest coin drop I had ever seen yet!)

@Renjaku You can pick up items by shooting them with your crossbow. Or could you not get a clean shot?
10/21/12, 07:48
@Mop it up

Derp. Didn't know that.
10/21/12, 08:11
@Mop it up I also did not know that.

Depending on how you do things, the chapters can go out of order - one of the few non-linear things about the game. I had to search around for one of the chapters at least.

When you explore the whole town and talk to everyone, you can figure out where to find them all. Some chapters, of course, are not needed to complete the game.

Am I the only one who reads the tutorial pop-ups? :P

Hm, guess I'll scour the city and see if I missed talking with anyone for that other chapter.

I hate to double-post, but...

Does anyone play this game online? I'm in the epilogue right now so I should be ready for some online play soon.

Speaking of, is there anything I should look for in the epilogue so I don't miss anything?

I'm glad someone brought this thread back to the front page. This game is infuriating me to no end.

First, the fight with Jirall was balls tough. What's the point of having a 'counter' in the game, if it barely works? Terrible.

Second, the party split between the 3 doors after fighting the spirit that splits into 3. Syrenne got KO'd at some point in that battle, or the battle before with the giant thing, and now she only has one life left all the time. This makes the split at the 3 doors pretty much impossible with one life. I'm afraid I will have to shelf this game until my frustration subsides. BUT UPON FURTHER REVIEW: It appears I equipped a weapon on her that I should not have, which limited the amount of lives she could have to 1. D'OH.

@TheOldManFromZelda

Never had an issue with Jirall... he was a great fight - dodged everywhere and whipped his ass with losing only 2 lives.. I only remembering countering a few times because I didn't need to do that to win... I just used my speed..

Second - for some reason I am having a hard time remembering what boss you are talking about.... but I do know about the weapon issue... I almost equipped it myself until I read the 'small print'

I only had major issues with the final confrontation and that's because I just wasn't high enough in levels - maybe you need to level up a bit yourself?

Loved the game...but I felt like the story was building up towards something much greater. In the end, the resolution was okay, but didn't quite pack that emotional impact I was expecting.

@ShadowLink_89 I know how you feel, things started getting good at the end both story and gameplay wise, and then it just kinda stopped. I was left wanting more, and not in a good way.

@Smerd

I unequipped the weapon, and it was smooth sailing. I believe I saved right before the last boss fight. The one after you fight him the first time, using his sword to break his barrier. That was pretty cool, but tough to pick up his sword! Most times when I got near it and pressed A, I rolled away! D'oh!!
