I finally found the secret exit in W1. I was barking up the wrong tree, and felt pretty stupid when I realized that the world map basically tells you which stage the secret exit is.
I was disappointed to read that the coin head block doesn't actually reward you for running fast - even though you get a lot of coins, you'll get the same amount if you just take your time with platforming, it will just stay on your head longer (plus, it acts as a free hit). Basically the only reward you get for running around with it is the applause at the end.
@anon_mastermind Yeah it took me a while to realize I don't have to run around like an headless chicken in order to score a lot of coins with that thing. It's 100 coins every time right?
I know you weren't hating on it but you seemed a bit lukewarm for a while there. I'm glad you are enjoying it more than you expected. It's a great game!!
That kinda bums me out. What's the point of getting the coins out faster then? I guess you could use up that block before getting another one, but eh. I really like the idea of it rewarding you based on speed and it's led to some hectic moments in the game for me. Pretty lame that it doesn't give you more from going fast!
I now change my mind about co-op. It is far more frustrating than NSMBWii since you get such a small amount of screen real estate. The game doesn't zoom out to help either, so it's basically tripping on one another. Blah.
Trish and I will keep at it, but it's pretty clunky.
Final boss was a bit of a letdown after NSMB Wii's was pretty cool. Oh well. Plenty of star coins and stuff left to find. I think I only found one secret exit, actually...
Yeah, once you start really collecting coins in Coin Rush mode the numbers start to click up pretty fast. I think I collected something like 19,000 coins throughout the entire main game. Now I'm getting more than that just playing 3 levels. It adds up fast.
Also, pro-tip, if you screw up a level, don't Quit out. Continue through or commit suicide instead. You get to keep the coins in your master tally that way.
Haven't thought about getting the game, really... But apparently, everyone is enjoying the ride... Color me impressed... I might own it some day... you never know.
