I believe I've owned every Madden on a Nintendo console since 2001 (with the best being 2005, I might add) and this is the version I've looked most forward to in a long time with the launch of the Wii U. I even owned it twice in 2006 when the Wii was released! It's unfortunate "we" won't be able to play with the new "Infinity Engine" they are using with the 360 and PS3 versions but it seems like it's going to be a massive upgrade to the Maddens we have played on the Wii. http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/08/03/madden-nfl-13-will-arrive-at-wii-u-launch"EA is bringing many of the key Madden 13 features to Wii U, which is being developed by a dedicated team. Ideas like Total Control Passing, Girdiron Club and the new commentators are on the way. Plus the integration with Wii U's GamePad will allow players to make faster play calls, substitute players and create custom hot routes on the fly, changing the way sports fans will interact with a Madden game. Another key feature being brought to Wii U is Connected Careers, which allows up to 32 players to form a league. Bialoskursky noted that online is a big emphasis for Nintendo this time around, aligning with EA's own interests for its sports titles. On the downside, however, the Madden Ultimate Team feature will not be present this time around."I can't wait to use this game with the GamePad! http://wiiudaily.com/madden-nfl-13-wii-u/The Madden NFL 13 Wii U version will utilize the tablet controller in various ways. During a match, players can quickly swift through the interactive playbook to call plays on the fly. They cal also use the Wii U stylus to trace the route for a player to run on the field. The Madden NFL 13 Wii U version will also include most of the regular game modes, including career, manage a team, Connected Career mode, and online multiplayer as well. However, the game will not support the new Infinity physics engine, as developer EA did not have enough time to implement this feature. The idea of being able to choose your play without your friend in the room being able to see or draw pass routes on the GamePad is awesome. I can't wait. See you online with the RAIDERS! @ludist210Whatever you want, brah! If we're talking about an NW league, I'm pretty sure we can do whatever we want. If we get like 5 people here, and we don't have enough, the league with the other guy we go to would be your as-is roster, and it would be updated when EA updates it. HOWEVER, if the Connected Careers thing is like I HOPE it is, we'd be in a contained FRANCHISE mode, and you could trade and do Free Agency and all that awesome stuff. Please, PLEASE be like that....... @ZeroAWESOME. @Mop it up@DeputyVanHalenYep, pretty much exactly what DVH said. Its..pretty awesome. And should be QUICK, too. I guess you can sub guys in / out really quick as well. |

@DeputyVanHalenYeah, the Jets one was on Pro (but I just beat the Dolphins the night before on Pro, hmm). I play on Gamecube on All-Pro, and I played on Wii on All-Pro, too. I generally do well. If I play against ONLY the CPU through a season (no human players), I usually come out with a pretty darn good record, on the side of less than 4 losses total, including Playoffs. That should give an indicator of my skill level, I guess? I've been playing for a few years in a Wii league with MasterSandman and some other guys, but I do get handled pretty well there (but these guys are playing GAMES AND GAMES each day..like TEN a day. It is kind of annoying though.., and "cripes, play another game"ish). |

@DeputyVanHalenOh yeah, this game is INT Happy. Like..TOO MUCH. I played a game last night (Bills vs. Rams), and it echoed the real-life Bills/Rams game..too much. A little backstory; I got a League invite from that guy Hobbs I told you about, and I joined up. I checked his settings: All-Pro, 6 Minute Quarters. I've been playing Pro 5 to this point, so I guess its time to advance, eh? 6 Minute Quarters felt like a good length game, actually. I like nice round numbers, and I've played 5's in almost every football game forever, but yeah, it was good. Anyway, my team was AFRAID of the Endzone so bad. Just like the real Bills. I got a field goal for an early lead, and held it until they took it later on. It looked as if I was going to lose the game after being within range the entire time, but they had some HORRIBLE clock management (I have no idea what they were doing; they were melting the clock before the 3 minute mark even hit, but then they were PASSING with 40 seconds left???). Incomplete pass followed by my timeouts gave me the ball back very late. I scored on a Play Action Pass (PA to this point in ALL of my Madden '13 games have been an INSTANT SACK), like a 70 yard run and catch to my slot guy. Nobody could catch him, and I tied it up. OVERTIME. Lost the toss, got the ball back...and threw an INT almost immediately to end my chances. LIKE REAL LIFE. Bills didn't go to OT yesterday, but they were extremely disappointing on their final offensive play. So yeah, DVH, whats going on over on Hobbs' page? Have you been posting/talking over there? I saw your name (among others) in the Madden Moments stuff. I did the Week 13 challenges last night; there is a leaderboard! Get in there, brother! |
