If I get a choice of physical or digital games, I usually go for the physical game to save HD space and have a physical copy. In the case of Animal Crossing, though, I think I may actually buy the digital version. It will be great having it with me all the time and not have to carry an extra cart with me. What about you guys?

Most likely digital... though part of me would still want it in physical form haha. But looking at Nintendo's past manuals and such, I wouldn't really miss much. It's like one page folded up a few times and that's it

I always go physical, though I won't be getting the 3DS Animal Crossing game at all. That's the kind of game I need on a home system.

I may actually buy both versions eventually, just so I can trade between my 3DS and redesigned 3DS with 2 C-Pads.

Physical if I have a choice. But either. I just need it.

I hope they sell a hybrid copy. I really want a physical copy but the perks of digital for this game in particular outway most

Definitely digital. It's a game you play only a bit each day so it'll be great not to have to worry about the cart.

I'll want a nice, fat booklet to go with my Animal Crossing. Physical.

EDIT- Oh hell, are you talking about the 3DS? I take it back. It will be great to have on my 16GB card. I was thinking about the Wii U version, whenever that hits. Like its been said, having it on constant stand-by will be a Godsend.

@Mop it up

I'm curious why you think this game belongs on a home console. It's definitely not one that pushes graphics. It's a pick up and play type of game that encourages daily play in short bursts to maintain your town. How is this not perfect for a handheld and what does it benefit from being on a console?

Fixed the title thread to avoid confusion.

@VofEscaflowne That isn't how I play the game. I never played it in single player at all, I played it only in multiplayer. My friends and I played it for hours on end at night, after long days of working, and we just hung out and chatted. If it were on a handheld, chatting would be clunky, I couldn't relax since I'd have to hold the system to see the screen, and it's tough to play an uncomfortable handheld for hours on end.

Fair enough though from my experiences with Wild World, the online portion of the game wasn't really that great. Never did play City Folk so I don't know how chat or other online features were handled in that game.

@VofEscaflowne Yeah, the Wii game is the only one I played. It has voice chat and USB keyboard support, so it's a very easy game to chat in no matter what a person's preferences are. Hopefully the Wii U will also support USB keyboards.

Ah yeah that's cool then. I'd sort of do the same in PS3's Home (yes, laugh away ) so I understand taking that approach on a social type of game. I'll be surprised if the 3DS version doesn't support voice chat though this is Nintendo, where they strip away features that were included in their previous games.

Digital. Given the choice, I will purchase it in digital form over physical nine times out of ten (unless the physical copy has features that the digital copy doesn't).

I'm not 100% sure I'll be buying this, but if I do I'm leaning towards the download version. Usually I prefer physical copies of games if available, but this is the type of game that will be handy to always have with me for short bursts.

Assuming I buy, digital all the way.

That's one game I'd go digital for sure, so I can pop in quick here and there and check my town out without having to plan it in advance.

...If I buy the game. Actually, I probably will, as even if it is another total rehash the online will probably at least be implemented in a way that it will be easy to visit friend's towns and such.

Same here. Nintendo really has to sell me on Animal Crossing.

I find it cool that a lot of people are willing to go digital for this version. I think it makes so much sense to have it with you always, space permitting of course.

The idea of digital is an intriguing thing to think about. Always having this game at one's immediate disposal is a most awesome concept to consider. Though, given the GCN version needing its own memory card, and the Wii version taking up a huge number of blocks, I can't imagine a digital form working for this kind of game. But then again, I have no idea what I'm taking about. I also like games in their physical form - the box art, the manual, the case... It just wouldn't be the same without that stuff!
