That's okay, the burritos will have revenge on your heavenly buns later.

^^^ steam the sacred buns

This game is so good but I can't play tonight, going to get some Mexican food as well with my own lady pal. I consider myself a bit more invested in Solo than Together for this title, but still.

I just want to talk about Kid Icarus more. This board should be EXPLODING with everyone discussing this game. So fun, and some of the best aspects of it are oddly un-Nintendo! Like the loot, and the crazy good writing and voice-overs.

@TriforceBun

Oh right, I always confuse heavenly with sacred

But playing multi works great to collect eggs though I wish you could spend them in between matches instead of having to return to the solo mode menu.

At what point did Mexican food take precedence over Kid Icarus? First Kris and now you.

Anyone else ready yet besides Mikey?

Sorry I couldn't join tonight, but like I said before, we celebrated my wife's birthday, and we ended up having some fun gaming (ending just a little while ago), playing with my friends and cousins. 4-player New Super Mario Bros. Wii is something I don't get to do very often, and it was absolutely phenomenal. (We also played some Rhythm Heaven Fever, Kirby's Return to Dream Land (4P), and Pokemon Puzzle League).

Did you guys get a good match going?

Yes, I know what you mean. This is a megaton game if I ever did see one, I am trying my best to praise the game as much as possible.

We started up with Shadowlink, anon and myself but Guillaume joined afterwards for like 5 seconds before getting kicked out anon left not too long after but we still had fun!

Oh god, the dialogue in this game is priceless.

"I never learned to read!"

Hey, you guys ever received a ? gem from streetpass or spotpass? Anything special we can do with those, or are they just duds?
05/09/12, 08:03
@Guillaume No it's just a gem of a weapon you haven't unlocked yet.
05/09/12, 08:07
@Davoid

Speaking of which, I notice some of my potential fusions are '?' weapons, and I assumed that these were weapons that I needed to unlock...but I've found all the Zodiac Chambers.

Are there other weapons to unlock besides the Zodiac ones? I assume they'd have to be in the Treasure Hunt because I've finished the game....

In other news, I bought a weapon with Defence +7 and Health +4. Power was terrible though (half a star! ranged, nothing melee!)

So I ended up fusing it into an Optical blade with 2 Star ranged damage and 3 star melee. Not great, but better than it was & still Defence 7! Thanks to the extra staying power I finally beat the first level on 9.0 intensity. Whoop!

@Shadowlink I also have a claw that is +7 Def. Yeah it's pretty weak overall(1 star) but I can't seem to decide myself on fusing it.
05/09/12, 09:57
@Shadowlink

Yeah there's quite a bit of weapons and power ups that you unlock from treasure hunts..

Def + 7 (or 8) is a highly useful stat for 9.0 runs. But if the stars are too weak (I'd say anything below 2.5 or 3 would probably take too long to kill stuff and lead to more damage anyway), I'd suggest fusing "upward" to get the Def mod on a stronger weapon. I've got a couple Def + 8 mods on weapons with 4 - 4.5 stars ranged. I wouldn't worry about melee too much on single-player. I mean, it's nice to have, but ranged damage is usually going to be your bread and butter.

I could play a bit tonight if you guys are in the mood.
05/09/12, 18:49
@TriforceBun

That's what I'm doing, but it's hard to pass a mod that high upwards.

Part way there though. Like I said I started off with a staff that had barely anything, and now I have a 2 star optical blade. It's doing the job for now, but I definitely want to upgrade it to something meatier when I get the chance.

The Chaos Vortex chapter (with the waves of enemies) is absolutely brutal on 9.0. No idea how I'm gonna beat this one, or Dyntos' loooong marathon...
05/09/12, 23:39
@TriforceBun

Chaos Vortex isn't so bad. At least it takes place on a fairly large area instead of the cramped up one like in an earlier chapter.

Has anyone managed to get many "shots narrowly avoided" for the treasure hunts? I'm still stuck at 9 even after I thought I had performed a bunch successfully. I might have to just use the feathers on them cause there's one that requires you to do 50
