This game is awesome! What the heck were the reviews complaining about? Sure, the controls are different but you know what? They actually work! I found them great after just the first level and reviews should have beaten the game. How could they not get used to this?

So far I'm loving the game. I played it on my bed, but used my laptop as a platform for the stand which surprisingly worked well.

I went through the first 2 chapters, then decided to give the Light vs. Dark mode a try. I accidentally went with my Ore Club instead of a staff which is what I wanted, but my god that thing seemed overpowered. The charge shot was a giant whirlwind that I just kept blasting the opponents with. And even killed the Dark Pit by sending him flying off the stage with it, heh

It was pretty much all Japanese people I played with for both rounds, and while one person kept seeming to teleport, the lag didn't seem all that bad at all.

I tried playing the game by holding it in my left hand. Before the end of the first flying section, my left wrist/fingers were feeling the burn. I can't imagine playing any more than ten minutes that way without some notable discomfort.

It's not bad with the stand, though. Kind of needy for portable gaming, yeah, but it seemed to work alright through the first two stages. The controls are pretty good so far, they'll definitely take some getting used to but I don't have any major complaints yet.

I'm getting used to the controls as well, they're tricky but definitely manageable and certainly not game breaking. I haven't the used the stand yet, I'm fine without it for now. I love the deep customization options already! Lots of stuff to equip onto my weapons, good stuff. Game is super impressive in all aspects and I look forward to playing more!

EDIT: The 3D Classics Kid Icarus NES re-boot is fantastic! I love the graphics.

Just did one of those intensity challenge doors Quite a tough monster battle inside but I emerged victorious, and with a kickass weapon to boot!

Not sure if everyone added my 3ds, here is my code in case. 0173 1290 1356

Oh and everyone make sure you turn on Spot Pass under options since it's defaulted to Off

@kgtennispro

First thing I did when I booted it up! I always checks options and stuff before playing. Kind of lame that it's defaulted to off though.

This dialogue is priceless, hahahaha

@Scrawnton

It's hilarious, one part actually had me laughing out loud
03/24/12, 01:49
So what weapon are you guys leaning towards?

I fused together a staff with Melee defense + Poison damage, and it's faired pretty well for me online thus far

And being only through Chapter 3 so far I can't wait to see what other staffs I can loot/fuse!
03/24/12, 01:52
I haven't fused anything yet cause I wanted to wait until I got some repeat items. But with two pretty strong canon weapons that you can easily find, I think I'll try my hand at it soon!

Also, go adjust the aiming speed in the options. It makes the on-foot sections with aiming/camera controlling MUCH better. You can turn around so quickly and be much more efficient in taking out enemies. I love the melee attacks with this and the bow as it reminds me so much of Brawl Pit haha.

I'm addicted to the weapon fusing. Every time I get a new weapon I go and see what new weapons I can make!

Leave it to you guys to send my hype meter through the roof. If I can find $40 laying around somewhere this will be mine.

@Abdooooo

Or go to Best Buy, it's 30$

I really love the smash bros like menus in this game. I think sakurai should be nintendos overseer in every games UIs.... His menus have so much polish.

This game is fun! I won my first online battle, even though I suck at these types of multiplayer games.

I actually LOLed when I first started playing. It feels exactly like a Smash Brothers game! Menuwise I mean. And music. And graphics. Pretty much everything but the gameplay.

Anyway, I played through the first few stages. It's a fun game. The on-foot controls are definitely iffy, but I'm getting used to them. One thing though, I don't really like the "5 minute" rule for the flying stuff. That part of the game is actually the best part for me, so it'd have been nice to get more. Instead it seems to be used more as an intro to the foot stuff, which makes up a much bigger chunk of each stage. The foot stuff ain't bad, but I would have liked more flying.

I'm kind of scared to try the online.
