After I had the time to play a fair share of online & offline multiplayer, I got to say, 6 players offline, around the table with a bunch of your mates is the way to go. Dark vs. Light, especially, is getting frantic pretty fast. To have the immediate reactions of your opponents & team mates is absolute gold plus it's excellent to share stategies & streetpass weapon gems.

I got to say, the local Kid Icarus experience is making me very excited for Super Smash Bros. on 3DS.

usually, wheni play a game for the first time, i determine whther or not it is a game i will ever trade in or if it is a game i keep for life... At the end of the year, it turns out that I keep about half of the games I buy... for example, games i bought last year that were keepers: OoT 3d, Dragon Quest 6, Zelda Skyward Sword, Super Mario 3d Land, Mario Kart7, and Dark Souls.

So far this year, I have two life time keepers: Tales of the Abyss 3DS and Kid Icarus Uprising.

This game is simlpy fantastic. I am currently on whati believe to be one of the last missions in the game. I am really shocked at the length and depth of this game. And honestly, i tremble at the idea of going back and playing some of these levels on high difficulty. I already beat the first level on the highest difficulty setting, but that level is easy no matter what.....

i barely jumped in to online play, but when i did last night (with my five star palm weapon) i crushed the competition. loving this game.

Is anyone using the free passes that you collect for the treasure hunts? I know there's a few I'll have a really hard time to complete such as exchanging 10 weapon gems (I have a total of 5 StreetPasses after a year) or others due to difficulty. It would feel kind of cheap for doing so...
04/02/12, 15:30
@VofEscaflowne i would use my feathers on the ones that require street pass. honestly, i am still playing through the story so i didnt get in to actually chasing down how to do the achievements.

I'm kind of scared of what I just saw earlier. *very mild spoiler* Having unlocked boss rush mode after beating the game, I saw that there's a treasure hunt for beating it on hard. I just beat it on easy which is intensity 3.0 and there's normal as well. So normal would be 6.0...? And then hard 9.0? I am not looking forward to trying that out. Beating all the game's bosses in a row at 9.0 would be, well, hard.

EDIT: Also, does anyone know how to perform dodges during air battles? I checked the tutorials and I'm not quite sure I understand it. There's a treasure hunt for doing 5 of them and I played through the entire game without getting it. Flicking the circle pad just doesn't seem to work and no matter what else I try, I just don't get anything for it.

@VofEscaflowne
The dodging is all contextual and timing based, you have to "flick" at the right time depending on the enemy and the kind of attack. I believe there's a video tutorial about it, I didn't really understand until I watched that. Certain things are really unintuitive, like for some enemies you can dodge through lasers or beams, it looks like you're getting hit but you're not.

@deathly_hallows

Oh oops, I was editing text and deleted that one important keyword. Ground battle dodges I get and they're easy to perform but this one treasure hunt says to narrowly miss 5 attacks during air battles. I think I've done 3...

@VofEscaflowne
Oh, I'm sure know about if you move quickly one direction then reverse you go into a little star-fox like barrel roll and are invincible for a second, I wonder if you deflect some bullets with that move it counts as a dodge?

@deathly_hallows

Oh, I'll try that out next time I play. I'm sure it's useful for the higher difficulties cause trying out a chapter at 9.0 is insane with the air battles.

i just beat the game furing my break period at work. I thought the game was fantastic and they developed the game very well. This is the type of game i could see mini dlc for where you just dowload bonus chapters.

The developers did a great job at making me cara about the characters and i REALLLLY hope this game was not just a one time thing because I am extremely interested in playing another game with pit in this same exact style. Maybe they will make another one for 3ds?!?

@Scrawnton

If they do, it better be for Wii U. It's suited for both right and left handed people if you use the touch screen. It has dual analog setup for those that would prefer that. I'm sure they'd work in a Wiimote option as well. Considering how impressive this game already looks on the 3DS, I'm sure it would pack quite the punch in the visuals department as well. It's really a no brainer but I hope it doesn't go back into hibernation

@VofEscaflowne to nintendo, releasing this game was a win-win situation. If the game takes off and has strong sales (like it did in japan so far), they can justify making another game and actually making a franchise out of this; however, if this game does not do so well, i can see them still taking pleasure in the fact that they revived a dead franchise, made a crazy hardcore game, and made all of their fans happy and they can move on to something else while still feeling like they accomplished something by making this game.

Has anyone done the "Chapter 1 in 4 minutes" treasure hunt?

Where does the time kick in from? Surely it doesn't count the flight section, otherwise it'd be impossible...as it seems to be.

I managed to complete it in under 7, but 4 minutes? Ergh.

PS. The biggest tragedy of this game is that it's yet another classic that Stache will not get to play.

@Shadowlink

I lowered the difficulty to 0, had palms equipped, and used a power up that prevented restlessness.

So once I landed, I activated that power and just sprinted past everything, then took out the boss in one hit

@Shadowlink

I did what @kgtennispro did except I also equipped a skill that makes you run fast. I just sprinted through the entire thing, it was kind of hilarious

I feel like I should have figured this out a while ago, but how to do get a golden laurel crown for a chapter? And is there a "platinum" one you can get as well?
04/03/12, 18:21
@Guillaume

Someone said it was by finding every treasure in the level. It seems to make sense because I've gotten a gold laurel on chapters that I've performed horribly on. And chapter 7 is still green because of that damn 9.0 intensity door

It's by finding all the treasures in the level. Not sure if you have to get them all in one "run" though.

Hah, curious about Platinum because of games like Kirby's Return to Dream Land? I'm pretty sure there're no Plat laurels, but you never know. This game is packed with surprises for sure.

What's everyone's percentage on the game so far? Last I checked, it was at 85.2% but I got a few extra trophy hunts since then.

@VofEscaflowne

I'm around 61%. Cool stuff going on in the main game.
