@VofEscaflowne Just saw the trailer on the 3DS eShop. I want this game now!!! It gets rid of one of my main irks from the first game, unimaginative backgrounds. The game looks so much more atmospheric.

Whoo! Code came today. 5 Days. Not bad I guess (although surely they could have come up with a slightly better system.... )

Picked up KI2 as well, so I'll be playing both.

I am going to try and get both complete by Thursday which is when I anticipate getting the new game.

I'm to 2-1, but GD.. Mikey, this game apparently WANTS you to "farm" hearts, too. I've never seen a game that encourages "waiting to collect."

I don't know, you really can't farm hearts anywhere but in the dungeons...which can actually be a problem if you get your stuff taken from you. The game is brutal if you're stuck without any upgrades (or get them stolen).

Finished 1-1. FINALLY.

Don't bother. If you get to place where you can farm easily, go for it. But don't bother doing it. If you die, which will happen a lot, you will lose all your hearts (I think). In any case, you will become stronger as you progress naturally, making it easier to collect hearts. Also, once you finish the game, you can start over from the beginning keeping your current "level" which will make it easier to progress and collect hearts.

Why is there nothing in the very first room? What is this, Monster Party?

I..can't tell you how long I just played 1-4 for on one life, but I CAN tell you that when I rescued all the little dudes, and beat the Boss, my score was 396,000, and I was barely over 100,000 when I went in.

Yeah..

Question: How do you activate your weapons and stuff? The manual says push Y to switch, but nothing happens.

@Shadowlink I'm pretty sure your arrow upgrades are automatic. As far as I could tell, the only other weapon is the mallet, which is only available in temples (where you use them to free centurions).

Ahh that explains the mallet thing. But what about the upgrades I could choose from after completing the training? Fire Arrows etc etc? Those didn't equip automatically.

@Shadowlink It's weird. Either you need to have a certain level of health for them to work, or you need to get back to full health before they get triggered...or both. I never quite figured out how that stuff worked, and the operations guide doesn't say either.

Find a healing spring/whatever and those items will trigger on. Why they aren't good from the get-go, I have no idea.

Those weapons (Crystal Rod, Fire Arrows, Long Bow deal) can NOT be used in Dungeon things. You might be like "hey, where'd they go!" Also know (if you haven't met them yet) that there are some characters who can just steal your items, Like-Like style, and without any effort whatsoever.

I'm currently resting on 3-4. I had enough terrible game playing today.

Do the items help me Force choke stupid vegetable throwing wizards? That's all I care about.
