Hey, I jumped in for a few (duh). Did we get Maka Wuhu'd by the Japanese kid who lost EVERY OTHER RACE I took part in? Because I'm counting my second on Maka Wuhu as a first for that crap.
I try to stop it every time it happens but it's difficult if you get Triple Mushrooms or something. You can tell who does it by them turning the kart around right before the second lap.
@Octorockin Good times. You are a monster! My wife was there too.
When everyone left and it was all randoms, Trish tried the Maka Wuhu cheat to see if she could do it. She succeeded, proceeded to feel bad and hid behind a tree instead of finishing.
How can i love and hate this game at the same time? Yeah... i was going to say that Trish joined in 2. I was also going to ask what the hell is with maku? What is this cheat? that would explain a lot as to why i was in 3rd then in 8th in seconds.. Arg. Worldwide ended up as a NW meetup :) good races overall. S
@Smerd Yeah, there's a glitch that skips over the entirety of the second section. Ridiculous stuff. Trish didn't think she'd pull it off and when she did, she felt bad and stopped racing. It was sort of funny.
Is Nintendo doing something about the Maku Wuhu exploit? I only ask because....
... I was racing last night and the track came up the random draw. I went ahead and used the glitch because I was racing against a bunch of randoms who were all voting for the track (gee I wonder why), and I saw them use the trick before me. So I said "eff those guys" and went for it myself.
I finished in like 2nd or 3rd, but then? I got kicked offlline. There was a "communication error" or something. Later, the track came up again, and I saw a guy use the glitch. I didn't this time, and I wasn't kicked offline at the end of the race. The guy that DID use the glitch? Mysteriously disappeared.
That didn't happen in the three races I played last night. The guy from Japan won Maka Wuhu easily (though the rest of NW in that race came in 2-6, so rock on NW) and was in the next two races with us. He lost both of them.
That would be awesome if people who use the glitch get a communication error. I feel that it's possible to implement on the server side -- for example, you get booted if your time is too low, meaning that you must have used the glitch.
We played with a pretty good group for a while, Ploot and I, even before more NWers showed up. Maka Wuhu got picked, and only one asshat chated... and failed.

In the race I was in, there was one guy who succeeded and finished first. I contemplated using it but I knew (most of) you guys were honest racers.
I too have been noticing some funny connection errors with Maka Wuhu...
Anyway, I will keep doing the exploit in random online for now.
