What's on your 2011 Christmas Wishlist? [roundtable]

I'm getting these games in the next few weeks:
Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
Mario Kart 7 (3DS)

Therefore, this is my Christmas Wishlist for 2011:
Assassin’s Creed Revelation (PS3)
Batman Arkham City (PS3)

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (PS3)
Fable III (X360)
Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary (X360)
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (PS3)
Mortal Kombat (PS3)
Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Blu-Ray)
Supernatural Season 2 (Blu-Ray)
Supernatural Season 6 (Blu-Ray)
Supernatural: The Anime Series (Blu-Ray)

I'm not getting anywhere near all of this, of course. The titles I want the most are in blue. The rest I can get for myself next year.

So what's on your Christmas Wishlist?

Assassin's Creed Revelations, Breaking Bad Season 3 on Blu Ray, The Lion King on Blu Ray, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on Blu Ray, some PSN cards, some Wii Points cards...and that's about it really.

I was going to ask for Rayman Origins for Christmas, but I can't wait any longer for that game so I'm buying it tomorrow!

I also thought about asking for Skyrim but I think I'll save that game for sometime next year when there's not much new to play.

Oh, I just thought of it; I think I'm putting Fortune Street on my Christmas list.

I don't want it THAT bad.. A gift is fine though.

Money to go buy more games.
11/15/11, 03:19
I pretty much don't get anything for Christmas except from my girlfriend. And it's more interesting to see what she comes up with on her own than to ask for games which I could just buy for myself.

@Zero

Ask for Tales of Symphonia 2 and Arc Rise Fantasia. You weren't going to buy those on your own.
11/15/11, 03:25
But then I'd have games I don't even want to play sitting around.
11/15/11, 03:33
@Zero

You're right; that'll interfere with your stack of games you want to play that are sitting around.
11/15/11, 03:34
I know!!! I have quite a backlog.
11/15/11, 03:36
@Zero

Some ladies say you've got one of the largest backlogs they've ever seen.
11/15/11, 03:38
*sniff*

Srsly, though. How do people know what to get you guys for X-mas? Do you make Amazon registries?

@Anand

"Christmas List," man! You distribute it to your parents, and they give it to Santa, or something. It varies family to family.

Nikki supplies me with a list (that I wholly ignore), and I give her a list of my desires.

People make phonecalls, ask brothers/sisters "hey, what does ________ want?"

Remember last year when you got Ogre Battle? Awesommmme.
How'd that turn out?
11/15/11, 22:53
I use Amazon, though mine's drastically changed. It's just down to the first five games that I listed.

@Mr_Mustache

You ignore her list of suggestions? Man, at least your wife makes a list. Laura usually doesn't. I have to use my super-powers to get her something that she wants.
11/15/11, 23:21
Yeahhhhhhhh I have no lists to go off of and I'm buying for a girlfriend who isn't very materialistic IE she doesn't have much nor want much so it's tough to figure out what to get for her.

Speaking of, I better start thinking about it now.
11/15/11, 23:35
..and the new 2012 Orioles jersey / hat. AWESOME. (see the Sports Thread!)

@ludist210

I don't "ignore" it, but I know that everything she has on there will be picked up by someone else (parents, an aunt, friends of ours [we have a get together that I force upon everyone; cheapish gifts, $10-$15]), the things that I get her are things that she may've forgotten about saying that she wanted, or maybe something that she didn't even really know about. Like, I got her Guitar Hero III way back when; thats not something she ever would've asked for outright, but she played the H out of that thing. If you want to PM me, I can give you some ideas. I buy the same types of things year to year and they're always pretty darn good. Are the things you get no good?

Just remember: just because she doesn't ASK for it don't mean she won't LIKE it.

@Zero

Buy her a cute hate/mittens set (I'm guessing neutral colors?). Chicago is cold and windy! Automatically goes into rotation, too.

@Mr_Mustache

Oh no, I know what to get Laura. She drops hints or does like Nikki, mentions something and then forgets about it...or I take a stab in the dark at something I'm pretty sure she'll like, and I'm usually right.

She's just real hard for my parents to buy for because she rarely makes out a list of wants, you know?
11/16/11, 00:30
@Mr_Mustache That's... not a bad idea. But I need something more personal too.
11/16/11, 00:41
@Zero

This might not be your fancy, but what about a scrap book of your relationship? Surely you or Shirley holds onto stuff from places you've been. Stick something on a page, type up a little something about it. Laura did that for me on our first Christmas. I still open it from time to time...easily the best gift I've ever received.
11/16/11, 00:53
@ludist210

I hear that. We don't see a lot of new movies during the year, so getting one of those on DVD is usually a good bet for her.
My parents usually get her sweaters, or something like that. My parents just like to buy sweaters for everyone.

Again, for Nikki (from me), I've never seen her refuse anything from VS. Girls like.

(ALSO, if you get in there before December; if you spend over $15 or something, you get this card that activates on the 1st and its worth a number of dollars off of your purchase, but you don't know how much. The top level is like $500 or something like that. It probably won't be that much, but you never know. Check it out!)

@Zero

Its a great idea! Its tough though, with her not being materialistic. Maybe some lipglossy stuff? Its feminine, but also protects against the harsh winter climate! I don't have the total gist on Shirley. Does she loathe makeup?

@ludist210

Scrapbook type deal might not be a bad idea either. Mixtape/disc? One of these years I'm going to do a horrible painting.

@Zero
Lingerie. It's the gift that gives back.
