Well, you guys are in luck, because Walmart will be selling Kirby for $39.83 (see flyer here).
Hey, also a nice deal.

I'm enjoying Mass Attack's soundtrack well enough, but I'd be lying if I said it stuck out to me like some other Kirby games' (Adventure, Super Star, Air Ride, Epic Yarn). The best songs are remixes of Air Ride songs (which I've always loved). Game itself is awesome though.

I remember thinking KRtD's music didn't really wow me in the trailer. Sounds crazy, but I kinda wish it was pseudo-orchestral like Air Ride's. The orchestra treatment actually fits Kirby wonderfully. Lots of strings and woodwinds!

Is this song a remix? This was the song that really "stuck out" to me when I playing Mass Attack tonight.

EDIT: I think this track rocks. There are some other songs that I liked too, but this one was the one that stood out the most.

Woah, I thought it was coming out in December. D=

That one's solid indeed, and not a remix (as far as I can tell).

A B from Jeremy Parish

It's a perfectly decent little platformer, but coming hot on the heels of the brilliantly inventive Mass Attack and visually imaginative Epic Yarn, it feels decidedly mundane.

Keep in mind, Parish gave Wario Land Shake It a C, so I don't know if my tastes in platformers match his 100%.

Tackling Dreamland alone is really sort of missing the point, though. The game is far too manageable when it's just Kirby on his lonesome. Throw in another three players, however, and suddenly the entire experience changes -- and not just a little, either. Multiplayer practically turns this into a completely different game.

If not for its impressive graphics and completely insane multiplayer design, Return to Dreamland might be a tough sell. Despite his juvenile appearance, Kirby often plays host to some of Nintendo's most imaginative game design, yet Dreamland is anything but. It's a perfectly tame, perfectly predictable little platformer whose only real edge comes in its cooperative design and, to a lesser degree, in how dauntingly unforgiving the later, "secret" stages can be. If you don't have any friends to play with, you can safely pass on Return to Dreamland. It's perfectly decent solo, but Kirby can do better than "decent." With friends, however, it's wild, infuriating, and fun.

IGN 7.5

I'm not really too thrilled with any of the reviews yet, to be honest. None of them really seem to go in-depth with the game at all. I feel it's hard to find actual connoisseurs of this series.

The Jeremy Parish one wasn't bad though.

I think I'll just pass on this for now. I'd like to get it some day but with Uncharted 3, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Skyward Sword, PixelJunk Sidescroller all releasing within the next couple of months and higher on my list, I'd be crazy to buy it now. If I did start it now, I'd probably start one of the other games and then forget and never touch it again.

Rich asking for more originality and experimentation just over a month after Kirby Mass Attack makes him sound like a never satisfied brat. I mean, really? We're gonna complain about a traditional Kirby platformer when one hasn't shown up on a home console in over a decade? A four player co-op iteration of the game, no less? And in the same quarter we got an extremely innovative and fun entry in the series?

IGN's Kirby Mass Attack review said:
It's been awhile since Kirby's had a traditional, platforming, enemy-devouring adventure. If that's what you're waiting for, you'll have to wait longer, because Kirby: Mass Attack for the Nintendo DS marks a decided deviation from the Kirby we know and love.

lol, IGN.

If you could edit those into the OP that would be grand.

Haha, that's crazy. Mass Attack: "It's been awhile since we got a traditional Kirby, this is weird." Return to Dreamland: "Where's the innovation, Nintendo!?"

I will say this, IGN does seem to be intrinsically tied into the modern gamer's mentality!

I came to the realization this year that platformers are my favorite video game genre. There's no way I'm passing on getting this and talking about it all week.

i am not into kirby console games (i think kirby belongs to portables as far as my personal taste) but wow!

I really enjoyed the recently published GoNintendo review!

Now if only my Wii wasn't broken

I just saw that one myself--definitely my favorite KRtD review so far! That's the kind of detailed look at the game I was hoping to learn about.

The OP's now updated with GoNintendo and Game Informer's reviews as well.

The Sterling review is really interesting. He's going to bat for it in the comments below, where people are chastising him for giving it a score Battlefield 3 might not get.

Being an internet game critic must be weird.
Posted: 10/24/11, 19:19:39

Well, you know, his fault for giving scores specifically to draw attention and clicks, and troll people.
Posted: 10/24/11, 19:29:06

Yeah. That's probably true, too.

Though, in fairness, trolling people who think Battlefield 3 should get a 10 even though they haven't played it yet sounds like fun.
Posted: 10/24/11, 19:31:47

I was being sarcastic.
