So there's lots of Xenoblade threads running around. Time for an official thread for impressions game discussion etc.
Whether you're a lucky resident of Europe or Australia, a North American who's decided to flip the bird to Nintendo and import, or even someone who simply wants to live vicariously through the experiences of others, this is the place you want to be!
I'm getting the hang of it now...got a bunch of great stuff out of it (mostly Strength Up IIs based on what I had in my inventory to craft). I might should go back to Colony 9 and do it again. I need to wrap up some quests over there, so...yep.
Cloaking would have been useful when running into the spider's den to pick up a random quest item...four enemies, all level 75+. I eventually snuck through, but it took me forever.
I always had to have the speed-up gem on or whatever it's called, the normal running speed is sooooooo sloooooow. Even with the max gem speed, it still just felt like what the default speed should have been. I guess this is why they're adding mechs to the next game, though it would be nice if the running speed was higher too...
@Secret_Tunnel Aren't there at least three points? Though at least one is pretty minor.
Agreed about the running speed, but I kind of dig the exploration and the encounters (unless a high-level unique spots me, then I run until I get out of its hair). Plus fast travel has saved me a lot of walking once I know where I'm going.
I'm glad the game's quests usually tell you where to find what you're looking for (or give you a very good idea where to find them). It's made questing a lot more bearable.
I beat two quests last night that had me fight several bosses that were on my level. I had to fight three Deified Queens on top of the Exile Fortress...fighting them one at a time was definitely the way to go.
So I'm mostly done questing for now. I guess I should actually work through the story, huh?
I finally started playing this game and damn can I ever understand why people love this game. The world is so big and beautiful. I'm currently in Satorl Marsh.
This game is like Spoiler Warning: The Game with all the visions
@Brick One of my favourite regions in the game! Came there in the daytime and got my mind blown when the sun set. The music alone would have been enough, but the whole transformation of the environment is pure magic!
If anyone I know is playing Xenoblade, I always ask them how they reacted when they first got to the swamp and it turned night because of how amazing that first moment is, when dusk turns into night.
As posted in the Epic Center thread, I just fired this up for the first time since APRIL 22nd, 2012. TOO LONG.
I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm just mashing buttons in battle. Is there a refresher course somewhere? I have NO DESIRE to restart this game now. I'm 22 hours in; my current Story says I'm making my way along Maguel Road near Kasharpa Falls or something.
