So there's lots of Xenoblade threads running around. Time for an official thread for impressions game discussion etc.
Whether you're a lucky resident of Europe or Australia, a North American who's decided to flip the bird to Nintendo and import, or even someone who simply wants to live vicariously through the experiences of others, this is the place you want to be!
I'm finding it difficult to find the last item i need in Colony 6 and Ether Mine/Cave to close out their collective collectapedia entries. How come I can't find the last item I need out of those areas? Stupid blue orbs! Giving me 100 of one particular item, and 0 of one I need!!!
The items may be time sensitive. I'm just guessing. I know that I was missing something for a long while, and I had to comb the 2nd area at least two times. I finally found one way back before the halfway point through there. A lot of stuff seems random.
If its the area that we've already talked about, call me or some poop. I'll try to play more tonight if I find some time..
I did some research about this, and it appears that no one knows for sure if item generation is time sensitive. I guess it's all trial and error. Perhaps I can trade with the locals to get what I want.
I didn't read anything to this point don't want even a hint of a spoiler. Game is amazing, combat system is amazing, graphics are amazing, scale is amazing, European voices are awesome. This is shaping up to be my game of the year. Also play as the tank, so much fun keeping aggro.
This game makes me pissed that developers didn't try with the Wii. THey acted like it was impossible to create large beautiful worlds on this hardware. The only thing impossible is HD visuals. This game has a huge beautifully crafted world with a great art style. Oh yeah you can't make a large game on the Wii yet GTA:SA was on the ps2! Lazy developers were the problem. Buy this game everyone please.
I was going to do a little grinding for a boss fight and while on the load screen I took my attention off the game for a moment. I guess my leg grazed the ZR button and I thought it was the load option so I pressed yes and ended up deleting my game. 35 hours lost because I wasn't paying attention.
My wife and I played for an hour and a half last night. So far I am more attached to the story/characters than any RPG I've ever played, minus perhaps Chrono Cross.
I was considering buying the soundtrack; something I haven't done in a long time. But I'll probably skip it, as I'm trying to stick to a new-console-year budget.
I went to gamestop today to buy a cheap ps3 game and the worker that im friends with gave me an extra preorder bonus art book for xenoblade because he knew i imported the game and that i loved it!
@TheOldManFromZelda I have already collected every item in both of those areas, so every collectible should be available to you. The problem is that some items have a really low rate of appearance, like 5% or something, so it can sometimes take a long time for items to appear. The rate may also be higher from certain spots, and also whether it's day or night, or sun or rain. The game's not even a year old yet in English-speaking countries though, and unless there's someone out there who has examined the game's code, we probably won't know for sure how collectibles work for some time.
Oh well, at least we don't have to sit through Monster Hunter's obscenely long gathering animations!
