Given the news that NES games will join the 3DS Virtual Console (though in a limited fashion for now), do you think Nintendo will abandon the 3DS Classics project?

Not yet. They'll probably end up doing the 3D Classics in batches.

Yeah, I think they're done for, sorry to say. I don't think they got the result-for-work that they wanted. Personally, I'd rather they just use those resources, however small they were, to create new 3D games. I don't really need to play Balloon Fight in 3D, you know?

I'm sure this isn't the end. But they will probably stop trying to do these obscure games and just stick to stuff they know will sell. And it won't be as common, a few here and there.

Yes. Wasn't there an article posted here about how adding the 3D ended up being much harder than anticipated? And that it broke the original gameplay in some areas (eg. Xevious?).

And I thought they were basically canning the line at the handful of games already released/in development. About 6 or 7 titles as I recall.

How can it be over? Didn't it JUST start?

No, but it will definitely cater to a niche audience.

I hope so. Those things aren't as cool as advertised, IMHO.

I don't think they're dead, but they won't have as much of a focus, definitely.

I think so. I think it`s probably too much work to convert stuff to 3D. They should rather have their studios work on 3DS eShop exclusives, for example more Art Style games.

No....Well, it was only a little over a week ago that there was articles everywhere stating there would be 6 of these games. So, we will get 4 more games.

Probably, but I wish they'd have done Legend of Zelda dot-game-hero style before they called it quits.

I don't think so, but the concept needs a revamp. Excitebike could have been so much better if they would have allowed for track sharing. Online (even local) multiplayer should happen for applicable titles.

@kriswright
What if it's Tingle's Balloon Fight?

Then I really, really don't want to see it in 3D.

@Mr_Mustache

Next year, the NW meet-up has to be in Japan.

I think this is what they will do.
