You might remember a while ago my Top 10 Non-Battle Pokemon Themes. Back then I did that to gather attention to the non-battle songs, since most people always cherish the battle themes. However... there's a reason for that. People cherish them because they kick ass. So now it's time for they to be arranged in a Top 10. Oh yes.
Note: For all Kanto/Johto themes I will be using the versions in their respective remakes (FR/LG/HG/SS) because I think they're better

Kanto - Trainer
We're kicking things off with a classic tune. It's classic, but nothing short of greatness. Hearing this tune was the first real intense moment in any Pokemon game. You had just gotten your Pokemon from Oak, you're about to leave the lab and BAM - your Rival challenges you.
Sinnoh - Champion Cynthia
Easily the best Battle theme in the Sinnoh games' soundtrack, and the only one which made it into my list. And barely. To be honest, just like Hoenn, the music in D/P isn't as good as it is in Kanto, Johto and Unova, but it's still pretty good. And this song is awesome.
Johto - Legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh
With the sound of the Rainbow Wing, the Rainbow Pokemon Ho-Oh descends...
Unova - Team Plasma N (Final)
That bastard N. He wants to take my Pokemon from me! And he has a Legendary Pokemon! Shit. That's fine, though, because I've got one too and I'll use it to battle his Legendary Pokemon. Let's do it!
Johto - Team Rocket
Prepare for trouble, I must insist. And make it double, we're on GE's list!
Johto - Rival
Yeah, another Johto one. Listen to it. Now, can you blame me?
Hoenn - Wild Pokemon
This is such a good one. Easily on the top of the Hoenn games' mediocre soundtrack.
Unova - Wild Pokemon (Rare)
I posted the Rare Wild Pokemon theme because it's the same as the regular one but a bit better. I love this song so much. Especially from the 40 second mark onward
Johto - Champion Lance/Pokemon Trainer Red
I've been waiting for you. I knew that you, with your skills, would eventually reach me here. There is no need for words now. We will battle to determine who is the stronger of the two us. As the most powerful trainer, and as the Pokemon League Champion, I, Lance, the dragon master, accept your challenge.
Johto - Legendary Beasts
In the remake, each Pokemon has a slightly differently remixed version of the original theme found in Crystal, but they're all basically the same, so I had to include them all for you to listen and compare. To me, Suicune's version is the best. But anyway, this list was very hard to put together, but I never hesitated about the number 1 spot. It has to go to this. So, so awesome.
Call me crazy but I thought Ruby and Sapphire had some of the best music in the series. I think it was the one thing the game tended to do better than the others, and music is really important to me in an rpg.
I gotta say, I think in my mind the Johto games are better than they actually are and the Hoenn games are worse than they actually are. I don't know why this is.
