So I was reading Whiffleboy's Top 10 NES songs thread, and when I decided to reply with some of my favorites, I noticed a lot of them were from Mega Man games. So I figured, I'll make a list of my own! And here it is.

One clarification: note the title, favorite "Robot Master Songs". In other words, no Mega Man 2 Wily 1. Or any other Wily stage or character select theme. I've been told a couple of times I have weird taste when it comes to Mega Man songs (I don't think so, but whatever), so let's see if you agree with me!

It's not on the list, but seriously, this is better than Mega Man 2's Wily.

I like MM2 Wily 1 but there're probably seven or eight Robot Master songs I'd put above it.

Great list! I went through and listened to each one. You pretty much can't go wrong with Mega Man NES music at all. My favorites of your list are Solar Man, Concrete Man, Bubble Man, and Snake Man. Top, Strike and Hornet are really good too.

You could probably pick the ten worst songs from 8-bit Mega Man and there would still be four or five great songs on the list.

It doesn't stop there though cause when I first saw the top 10 NES songs thread, the first thing that came to mind was a Mega Man song. Creepy

No Shadow Man, or Spark Man? What about Ring Man? Elec Man?

Did you know: I love all of the music from Megaman 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9?

Nice list Gelatinous! There's such a great selection of songs from all the Mega Man games.

I don't know what people are talking about, MM9 and 10 are definitely worth highlighting (and this coming from someone who grew up playing the entire series).

Choice #9 is an excellent choice, Skull Man's music is just sweet.

Choice #7, Bubble Man's music almost always brings a tear to my eye. I will never forget the impact that level, that song, had on me when I was a kid.

Choice #3, Hornet Man, great choice.

Another great list, it's interesting how everyone's picks can be so different.

MM7 for SNES, hhmmm. The melodies are cool, but there's something I just love about the 8-bit sound.

I will say, that Shade Man's intro is reaallly nice. It has that spooky feel to it.

It's weird. When I think "what are some of my favorite NES songs," Mega Man games definitely come to mind immediately.
When I think "what are some of my favorite SNES songs," MM7 is somewhere far far down the list. Maybe I have different expectations for SNES music. MM7 even had its own competition with 'big brother' MMX series (whose music I prefer to 7's)!

Wow, MM6 Knight Man's music is epic, hadn't realized it before!

@shinriley Dude, not only do I love that MM7 Wily song, I actually kind of "borrowed" the bass/general riff for my own song. Not sure how evident it is, but it's the same base/chord progression for my first part as in that Wily song.
