I think that thinking about old great teams, no matter what the venue, really makes you appreciate them more.

I wasn't around for ANY of the 70's Steelers stuff, but..I dunno. I'm not even a Steelers fan and they seem so awesome.

So, the NFLPA and the Owners could NOT come to an agreement.

-The Players Unions has decertified
-The Owners have now locked out the players
-The Players are issuing an antitrust lawsuit

Yeah, this is good..

Right. I think I heard about this on some podcast recently.

@Pandareus

Which one?
03/14/11, 07:49
Man I hope they get that cleared out sooner than later. I don't know if I could take a winter without football.
03/14/11, 08:56
@chrisbg99

I know, right? Wouldn't that be weird??

I wasn't into football the last time there was the strike.
And I wasn't super into baseball or hockey when they had their offyears either.

Scary stuff.
03/14/11, 08:57
The baseball strike year was tough. It ended a season and cut into another.

But the Braves won the World Series the season the strike ended so I was good.

@chrisbg99

The Blue Jays were involved in something somewhere, right? '94?
03/15/11, 07:43
They won the '92 and '93 Series. Where Canadians got all pissy was that the '94 Strike ended the Expos possibly best chance to win the World Series. Pretty much after that it was all downhill from there till they moved to Washington.

@chrisbg99

Poor Expos. Anon_Mastermind's favorite team. He's never been back, but he still wears hit Montreal hat daily.

That and his Andres Galaragga jersey.

Noooooooooooooo!Cricket World Cup TRAGEDY

Pakistan just beat Australia by 4 wickets.

Thus ends a 12 year/ 34 game undefeated streak for Australia. Boo.

We're still 3rd in the Group A pool though, a finals position is assured. Here's hoping they can at least go on to win the trophy. 4 World Cups in a row, yeah

Haha, 12 years, hahaa.

I gotta update the schedules!
..Later...

When are Group Matchups available?
03/20/11, 00:15
You mean for the finals? Last games are being played today to determine the final makeup. The teams qualifying so far are here:

@Shadowlink

Alright, I'll check later tonight. Stupid International Date Line!!
03/20/11, 00:21
This thread makes me weep.

On a night when Mauricio "Shogun" Rua is slated to put his belt on the line against the most amazing up and comer in the weight division, Jon "Bones" Jones, you all are discussing Cricket.

For shame... for shame...

@Oldmanwinter

You are in charge of that stuff, and you've not kept me up to date.
I don't even know what you're talking about. ...Boxing??

Sounds like crappy bantamweight something.

Oh my goodness. I thought you followed MMA.

Shogun is the UFC 205 pound champ. He destroyed everyone in Pride and took the belt via vicious KO of Machida last time out. He is a beast. Jon Jones is the best up and comer in the sport. He hasn't had a close fight... ever. It should be a good one.

I honestly want Shogun to win however I think Jones might have his number tonight.

@Oldmanwinter

Haha, no, I definitely don't.

Is there a schedule? Post what you want me to post and I'll put it up there.

--Same goes for Tennis guy!
I don't know how that stuff works..

Watch the vid;)

@Mr_Mustache
The Expos were going to win the World Series in 1994 and it would have saved the franchise. They lost their star players, and people stopped supporting the team after that. At least I got to see Pedro Martinez and Vladimir Guerrero in their prime. Good memories.

Andres Galaragga was a beast! But a little before my time. I only caught him live towards the tail end of his career.
