My dad caught a line drive once that I didn't see (it could just be a story). Said he hand swelled up pretty good. Kinda scary, eh? --And he has Man Hands. I can't imagine what would happen to my dainty hotdog fingers.

Ouch, a well hit line drive I'd think might break something if caught barehanded. Even if it didn't it probably still hurt a ton.

I have never seen a team overwhelmingly dominate every opponent they've faced in the playoffs like the LA Kings have. Mind-bogglingly good hockey.

Ok...well it may not happen in the cities of the U.S of A but in and around Toronto (and in some other areas of Canada), international flags are being flown by many as Soccer is about to start.

The European Tournament this year starts with 16 finalists and plays much like the World Cup but only features, you guessed it, teams from Europe. These 16 teams (Countries) have been busy qualifying for the past 2-3 years and the big show starts today and goes till July the 1st. Just like the World Cup, this tourny happens every 4 years (That way the Euros and World Cup are always 2 years apart from each other - the next World Cup is in Brazil 2014). Do you guys like boxing at all? I'm not a fan, really, but I'm often intriguined.

Tonight that Manny Pacquaio dude fought Timothy Bradley Jr., and Bradley took it in a split decision. That wouldn't really be super-news but for the fact that everyone watching thought taht Pacquaio won, and it sounded as if Bradley thought he had won as well. The judges are the only ones that matter in that though, but they shouldn't be the guys to steal the show. Your job is to call a winner, not create controversey and get headlines until the rematch.

Quick stats:
Pacquiao landed 94 more punches.

Pacquiao landed 253 of 751 punches, a connect rate of 34 percent. Bradley landed 159 of 839, a connect rate of just 19 percent. On top of that, Pacquiao seemed to land the more powerful shots.

"I do my best and I guess my best wasn't good enough," Pacquiao said. "I've been watching the tapes of his fights. Tonight, he never hurt me. Most of his punches hit my arms. I don't know what happened (with the scoring). I have no problem. I'll be ready for the rematch. No doubt (I won the fight.)"

R.A. Dickey threw a one-hitter, but they're petitioning to have the hit ruled an error. Should know by tomorrow (and I doubt it changes).

My team threw a 6-pitcher no-hitter AND my other team got struck out 14 times for a perfect game. All in the same month!!! ESPN finally featured an article on Seattle that was positive, even if they fixed their mistake the next day by featuring an article blasting Seattle fans for leaving before that game was over. And it does bring a smile to my face to see them proclaim Cain's perfect game "the best ever" mere hours after it happened. 14ks is impressive. But it's the Astros...that should probably be factored in.

Had a lovely weekend in D.C...spent yesterday afternoon at the marathon 14-inning Yankees/Nationals game. Got cooked out in the sun, but not as bad as everyone else in my group. Thankfully, we got out of there with a win (though when we saw the replay later, we lucked out quite a bit!)

O's Jason Hammel threw a 1-hitter last night. Can't remember the last time an O's pitcher did that!

And Dale Jr won today for the first time in FOUR YEARS. His last win was at this same track, weird!
