A new wrinkle in Suh-gate.

Hmmmm.... --Really???

SPOILER ALERT: Apparently, Green Bay guy who got stomped had been untying Suh's shoes all game, haha!!

We here in Fargo are quite excited for the North Dakota State Bison being within 2 victories of the NCAA FCS Championship.

Playoffs are always more exciting than selected title games. Screw the BCS.

Do you guys get NFL Network at all?

If you're looking for the Dallas @ Tampa game, you can see bits and pieces of it on NFL.com with Live Look Ins.

--I had Alex Smith as my QB for two of my teams, and switched him out for Josh Freeman tonight. He ran 25 yards..but then fumbled. ARGH.
12/18/11, 03:35
Woo NDSU Bison beat the Georgia Southern Eagles 35-7 and stopped the triple option offense that apparently had 'Bama's couch exhausted.

Three weeks till the FCS Championship game against Sam Houston.

My schedule up there is bonkers. Whatever.

--Sooo, playoffs start this weekend. Do you guys foresee any upsets? Can the Bengals advance over the opportunistic Texans? Will it be Tebow Time in Pittsburgh? Can the Lions make it to the Divisional Round? Can the Falcons right their Week 16 wrong?

Alright, so the Steelers are GOING TO Denver, the Falcons are playing New York, and the Lions have to play the Saints. I was only right about the Bengals/Texans game, haha. SO, it still stands, how do you think they'll shake out?

EDIT: Ugh. All of my things were wrong. I've updated the games in the thread up there.

I'm not so sure about the Texans. We didn't really limp into the playoffs. Instead we got our dead bodies dragged into the playoffs with 3 consecutive loses. And our QBs seem to get hurt more often than any other team I've seen in recent in my life (T.J. got his shoulder bruised in the last game). I think we can top the Bengals, though we did have to come back and beat them in the regular season, but after that I don't see us doing much. We'll see how far a solid defense (if it shows) and running game can carry you through the playoffs. Even with Andre back, we simply don't have the QB to get that triple threat going.

As far as predictions go, I see the NFC winning it all. Either the Saints or the Packers. AFC I see either the Pats or the Ravens going on. I don't think the Steelers will make it beyond Denver (who they will murder), Texans will get dropped, and then it's down to which Joe Flacco shows up for the Championship.

SOOOOO beyond glad the Jets are out. It was the best Birthday present I got in a long time watching Tebow beat them on Thursday Night Football and watching the team collapse at the end was great. Even better was all the finger pointing that followed. And now we've got people FINALLY telling Rex Ryan to STFU!

@missypissy

I didn't respond immediately to allow others to weigh in, but now a day later its on Page 2. Jerks!

Who is behind TJ Yates? I heard Jeff Garcia and Jake Delhomme? Wow. Is that true, or was it bad intel?

Topping the Bengals will be tough. I think they're the most underrated team in the entire playoffs this year. I think they've got better footing than the Broncos, for sure, and the way you described the Texans being totally decimated the past few weeks, I'd have to say that they have the inside track on Houston, too. Should be an interesting game, perhaps the most exciting / "who's it gonna be" matchup this weekend? I guess Atlanta vs. New York should be interesting, too, though the Giants turn me off. We get them in our market like every game, ugh. So annoying.

I think the 49ers are really underrated, too. They have a first round BYE and you didn't even mention 'em! I guess they were kinda bolstered by that terrible NFC West division (but were they?). We'll see who comes out on top when they lock up with whoever on Divisional Weekend. I'm looking forward to that game. I'd like to see 'em go all the way, for sure. Dad likes the Niners.

The Jets are horrific. Really, does Rex Ryan call "Superbowl" every year? What a turd. Mark "Dirty" Sanchez is one of the worst starting Quarterbacks out there. I feel like people just now are going "huh. Maybe he isn't that good?" Did anyone get shown the door yet?

I know the Bills Defensive Coordinator is out on the streets, and Stevie Johnson might be on his way out, too. Man. I don't know what I want to happen. I think I was Stevie to stay; less distractions on Draft Day (too many holes to fill = bad idea).

Michael Clarke gets triple ton against India at SCG

I know I know, it's cricket. But trust me. This is HUGE. Only a handful of people have achieved the feat at International test level. (Or any level I guess )

I'm just glad the long, miserable season is done and over with. The only upside is that the Vikings can maybe start rebuilding and hopefully they'll get a new stadium sooner than later now. Seriously the Vikings are like that lovable dog that shits on the living room rug, you want to just get rid of it but damn it, you love the thing.
01/06/12, 07:48
@missypissy

You guys are going down hard! lol just kidding. It's going to be a close game and could go either way IMO.
01/06/12, 17:13
I hope two brand new teams make it to the Superbowl this year, instead of "the usual suspects."

Except the Ravens of course. They should never make it.

@-JKR-

If you replace that with the Steelers, then that's exactly how I feel.
01/06/12, 22:38
@missypissy

Congratulations on hitting Round 2!

Saints / Lions on now, woo! I foolishly picked Bengals to win the other game (pretty much based on missypissy's glowing firsthand review of Houston the past few weeks, haha!!); is another "upset" in order for this game? I picked the Saints..I don't think the Lions have the horsepower.

The game starts with a Touchback. Zammo!
01/08/12, 03:09
Quite happy that NDSU won the Division 1-AA/FCS Championship. 9 years ago they were a pretty bad Division II team and they somehow turned it all around.
01/08/12, 09:19
@Mr_Mustache

Our Defense showed up, our Running game was backed by piss-poor tackling on the Bengals part, and Dalton throwing 3 picks all led to a victory. I think we can ride this into Baltimore and give them a good game. Hopefully the disappointing Flacco shows up. If we can shut down Ray Rice I think we can win, but if he runs over us it'll be a long day. But my Seahawks beat them so there's always hope!

A little disappointed the Saints won, but they will be tough to beat. Hopefully the 49'ers shut down that passing attack, but I'm not certain anyone can.

Giants game was BORING! When the hell is Atlanta going to go into the playoffs and do anything?!

Tim Tebow will be my Lord and Savior if he wins today. He beat the Jets on my birthday AND he knocks the Stealers out of the playoffs? Yes, please, Tebow, yes.

Thank you Based Tebow!!!
01/09/12, 03:16
@missypissy

Yep. Tim Tebow needs a little work, but he's legit now.
01/09/12, 04:48
Sad to see my Steelers out, but man that was an awesome game. All football games should be like that. The rest of the wild card weekend was kind of a let down, with boring games. Only that one lived up to playoff-ness.

I'm also happy that Ryan Clark didn't play, despite the fact that he would have been in place to stop that overtime touchdown (that's his spot and he's our leading tackler). It's just a game, and no one should risk their life for something so silly, so he made the right call.

Now to whole-heartedly root for the Broncos next week (and beyond)!
