O's on TV again tonight against the Red Sox (MLB TV). They already seem like they've been on more than they usually are for the entire year. What the heck. I guess high hopes will do that? They gotta turn this thing around though.

Annnd the NFL Draft is Thursday! Am I the only one who watches it?
Does anyone know when/where its on that ISN'T NFL Network?
04/26/11, 22:26
^ Well Baltimore should probably be on TV a lot, as they have two HUGE markets in their division (Boston and NY).
04/27/11, 01:17
@PogueSquadron

I get the Yankee games all the time on YES. We also have Chicago stuff on WGN for some reason, and TBS for the Braves...but I haven't even seen TBS in my channel surfings in recent memory.

I think the last time I saw the O's play Boston was on ESPN two years ago. I've never seen the O's on FOX.

Did any of you guys see the end of the WhiteSox-Yankees game last night??

Brent Lillibridge should be a household name if but for one day.
04/27/11, 22:30
Mariners need to play the Tigers everyday. We just have that team's number this year.

Also glad to see Football is back on the table.

Crazy first round of the NFL draft (results above!); I had been banking on Von Miller going to the Bills and thinking of how awesome it'd be to have he and Paul Posluzsny in the same squad. Instead, they go and draft Marcel Dareus, a guy who is rated pretty darn high...but he's a DT, and the Bills run a 3-4. For those who aren't in the know, that means that their defensive front only uses ONE DT. So what does that mean for Kyle Williams? He's played especially well for the Bills, and was the only representative of the team in the Pro Bowl! They're going to DUMP their Pro Bowl guy?? I'm so very confused by this, and I hope they have some wild idea. I GUESS Dareus could move to DE?

I'm not a big college football guy (read: I play DS more than I watch College football) so I don't really know these guys beyond reading their names here and there, being told something about them, or seeing highlight films of them after they're drafted. Any help?

I'm curious how Christian Ponder will be. I'm just happy that the Vikings are at least trying to stop being the last stop for seemingly every soon-to-be-retiring NFL QB.
04/29/11, 11:07
@chrisbg99

Someone was mentioning another team possibly gunning for McNabb?

It'll be interesting when the tradelines are reopened to see who goes where if at all.
04/29/11, 12:46
Yeah the Vikings were one of those teams but I'm hoping they are trying to build for the long-term than the short-term. You can't build around a QB who might not be around for more than a year or two.

All the consistently great teams typically, on offense, are built around a QB who has started young and has the team built around him to a degree. It is a crap shoot though. I've got to wonder how many QBs teams like the Lions have gone through just the last decade. I know it is a lot.

Lets Go Red Wings!

Hunt those Sharks!

Game 1 just started...
04/30/11, 05:20
I'm trying to watch the Wings' game, but Versus can't air the game (due to "broadcast restrictions" or whatever) and Fox Sports is showing the last bit of the Tigers game. Grah! Frustration!
04/30/11, 05:22
@GameDadGrant

I listened to it on web-radio. Damn shame we lost in overtime. Oh well, it's just one.
04/30/11, 09:30
Man United lost against Arsenal... Title Race is ON for last year's champions Chelsea. They play each other next week!

The wings have sucked the past two games against the sharks. This is unacceptable.
05/02/11, 04:52
Today's Wings' game was painful to watch. Seems like the only Red Wing that showed up to play today was Howard. Hopefully they can turn things around once they get back to playing at the Joe.
05/02/11, 05:55
Go Bruins! Game 2 tonight at 5:30 (7:30 EST). I was surprised with what they did to Philadelphia in Game 1 IN Philadelphia. I really hope the Bruins can avenge what happened last year giving up that 3 games to none lead. Horrible! I hate the Flyers, haha. Looks like the Flyers are rolling with Brian Boucher again too.

I'm really surprised with Round 2 so far...San Jose and Tampa with 2-0 series leads? Nuts! (Go Nashville!)
05/02/11, 23:29
Hey, Francisco Liriano threw a no-no last night!

Was MasterSandman II happy about that? Lets find out!..
05/04/11, 23:01
I was enraged by that stupid no-hitter. I own him in a keeper league and a goofy league. I actually carried him over from last year in my keeper league expecting big things from him but I wasn't getting it. I benched him and I would do it again if I had to make that decision again. I was playing the percentages! It was a horrible no hitter anyway. 6 BB and 2 Ks? I traded him and Sergio Santos for Matt Garza today. Good riddance.
05/05/11, 01:11
@MasterSandman II

Its tough to go by percentages. I hear ya, though. Its tough to play a guy who is historically stinky and expect something nice.

Haha, 6 BB / 2K. The only thing worse would be 7BB / 1K.
05/05/11, 01:29
Flyers are cooked. Kind of a shame. Maybe it's just the fact that Pronger is out (his presence was definitely felt in the last series), but the Flyers aren't showing the same resolve they had last year. The Bruins also have a couple of their biggest guys back, so that's probably playing into it. That, and they don't have a revolving door of goaltenders.

Thankfully I'm not an enormous hockey fan. Phillies still doing well. Vance Worhley just finished his second game giving up 1 earned run in 12 innings. Granted, it was against the Nationals and I think the Mets, but we'll take it. At the very least, it's good to know the Phils are beating the teams they're supposed to beat (which didn't happen all of last year...sometimes they'd get run down by the Astros or the Pirates for no reason). We'll learn a lot about the Phillies over the next month, as they have a pretty tough schedule against teams like the Marlins, the Reds, and others.
