Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright is $30 for preorder at Amazon and Best Buy. For Gamer's Club Unlocked members that brings the price to $24, dayum. My membership is basically paying for itself already.

This isn't on a Nintendo system but you can get both N64 Banjo games on XBox Live on 360 for $15 total right now.

Buy 1 Get 1 Free 3DS games! Best Buy, July 20 - 26. Actually a pretty great deal--it only works with the following games, but they're all recent releases:

-Kirby: Triple Deluxe
-Pokemon X or Y
-Yoshi's New Island
-Tomodachi Life
-Mario Party: Island Tour
-Mario Golf: World Tour
-Disney Magical World
-Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
-Bravely Default

They're also selling Wii U pro controllers for 30 bucks.

@TriforceBun Whatttttt? That's pretty freaking sweet. I'd go with Kirby and Bravely Default.

...is it in-store only though? Selection at Best Buy stores is not very good around here. And I no longer have a car, so I can't run all over the place looking for stuff.

In other news Sony is doing a PSN flash sale, 20+ games for 99 cents each. I bought Dino Crisis 1 + 2 and Thomas Was Alone for $3!

Damnit, I just got a new Wiimote Plus like a month ago and now they have the $10 thing. Lame.

I'm down for this. I get 20% off with my GCU. Bravely Default sounds interesting but I've heard mixed things. I've had some great JRPGS experiences in the past couple years including Xenoblade and Radiant Historia. How does it hold up?

Pokemon Y COULD be interesting for Amanda. She hasn't beaten Gold yet though. Kirby sounds interesting too but I just don't know...is it as good as Return to Dreamland (which I haven't played)?

@PogueSquadron
Kirby is good. And Return to Dreamland is $$$-y. Not shitty. Pricey.

@Zero
I bought everything, pretty much. It's pretty nice to waltz into a console library at the end of its life!

Anyone know anything about Disney Magical World?

I'm thinking of getting Bravely and one other game. Already have Zelda and Pokemon X. Pokemon Y is a strong contender so that we'd have both X and Y here to trade with.

Mario Party is an option I suppose, but Mario Party just isn't as much fun without the TV.

@PogueSquadron
If you have 2 3DSeses, though, it's single-cart multiplayer. And it really takes advantage of all the system's features.

@PogueSquadron

I love Mario Party DS, but not a fan of Island Tour. It's the same style as MP9 which I just don't love. I want mini games every turn.
07/15/14, 02:03
I dunno, there's just something more fun to me playing those games on the TV together. We played MPDS before and it was okay.

I'd agree, not a huge fan of MP9 style. It just feels less like a virtual board game, which is what always made Mario Party so fun to begin with. It also felt like there was less strategy involved.

Sims 2 Ultimate Collection is now FREE.

Details here.
07/23/14, 22:12

Season 2 of The Walking Dead is now 60% off on Steam. Will likely only last a day or two. Get it while it's dead!... err... alive! Season 1 is 75% off! Pick these games up people!

**I blurred what's in Clementine's hands just in case it can somehow be seen as a spoiler but it's not pivotal to any plot spoilers.**

Tempting, but I probably want to play it on PS3.

For no reason that I can attest to considering that my new laptop should be able to play this stuff fine. Probably.

...it is coming out on PS3, right?
08/27/14, 07:12
@Zero

Probably today or tomorrow as the releases are always close together, but maybe not at such an amazing deal.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy is $24.99 at Best Buy ($20 for Gamers Club Unlocked). I thought I read someone said that's what it was on Amazon as well but I don't see it there.

PSN is having a PAX sale including Guacamelee and Child of Light. Here's a full list.

Are the European fans of Zelda aware of these upcoming sales on Zelda games on your eShop?...

I have everything but I'm still jealous of the great deal. Hell, not only are Zelda games discounted, you get a Hyrule Warriors discount just for buying a Zelda game. Win freakin' win!

Sims 4 released yesterday and there's a workaround to get it for $35 (reg. $60).

Basically, EA is selling Sims 4 at a discounted price in Central America. By changing the VPN you access the Origin site from, you can trick EA into thinking you're buying the game from that region (the game itself isn't region-locked). It's easy to process.

Download and install Hola Better Internet Chrome plugin. After visiting origin.com press the icon of the plugin on the top right of your browser and switch to Mexico. Add the game to your cart and proceed to checkout (Note: default selection is Digital Deluxe Ed., switch to Standard Edition for $35 price). When it asks you to login with your Origin account, turn off the VPN, login and buy the game with the Mexican price.

Took me all of 60 seconds to add the Hola plugin, drop the game in my cart, and finish the transaction.
