There's some pretty good deals here. Mario Party Island Tour, all of the retail Sonic games released for Wii U and 3DS, a bunch of LEGO games, Ocarina of Time 3D, Wind Waker HD, Yoshi's Island, and more.
I don't know if this sale applies to the EU of Australian eShop.
I've got $15 on the eShop now...but it's just so tempting to keep it there until Smash comes out. Still, the GameCube bundle is really tempting as well.
Hmm, quite tempting to just bite on this. I have no experience with the Ace Attorney series though. Still feeling skeptical. Is there a review or preview of the game elsewhere? It's been out in Japan for a while right?
What is there to feel skeptical of, Ace Attorney is pretty much one of the best new franchises of the last 10 years or so. Also... how on Earth have you never played an Ace Attorney game? INSANE. Get on it!
Well it seemed like just a bunch of text. I don't quite understand where the enjoyment is pulled from. I have no doubt that fun is to be had but I'm interested in how. I like Layton which is similar probably so maybe if u understood how the two are similar I might understand more.
When I get home I might preorder this to lock in the price and see what happenes.
Well it is a bunch of text...but it's great text! It's basically a visual novel with lots of great writing and characters- The gameplay part comes in where you have to piece together the clues and other information to try and win the case for your client.
All I can suggest is find a demo somewhere, somehow! That will give you a good taste.
@DrFinkelstein Nah it's not just text, it breaks down into two sections... exploration / criminal investigation and then courtroom BATTLES where you have to press witnesses, present the right evidence, etc. It's pretty much one of the best things ever. I can't believe anyone here has not played it. Of course the story, characters, and dialog are the main appeal, but there is actual gameplay too.
I ask above to Jamie because I was even considering the whole three games for download load this holiday thing they're doing. But also, I love the sound track to this ace and layton game, so I'm pretty heavily considering diving head first and taking the risk. I just hope it won't matter if it's my first.
Charlie Murder AND Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition are FREE for Xbox Live Gold Members. Red Dead Redemption and May Payne 3 are also on sale for Gold members for less than $10 each.
@DrFinkelstein Hmm I don't know. You could check it out (I think it's on Android). Not sure if first case is free.
Personally I don't think it would hurt to play through one of the games (the first one, to get a feel for the characters and stuff). For me the appeal is that these two franchises with characters I love are colliding.
Ironically enough, Amanda and I played these series practically concurrently, so it's really weird that they're in a game. We always talk about them like they're part of the same series because we played through both series' in about a year. And now they're actually starring in a game together! Mind blown.
