AMAZING deal at Best Buy if you haven't gotten a PS3 yet (seems to be in-store only).
PS3 Uncharted 3 Bundle, Uncharted 1/2 Double Pack and a $50 gift card -- for $299. I finally had to bite, considering the Uncharted games are about 50% of the reason I wanted a PS3 to begin with.
@TriforceBun I ordered Steel Diver on bestbuy.com this morning with in-store pick-up. Don't want to take a chance of missing out! Just as a heads up though, it's a deal of the day, so I wouldn't wait too long! I think DQ9 was too, so that might be over. They might be online only too, I'm not sure -- but if so, just choose in-store pick-up and you can get it in-store the same day!
I would highly recommend Pilotwings Resort for $5 too. People have complained that it's short (a complaint I don't necessarily agree with) but at $5 you can't go wrong.
Scooped a copy of Pilotwings for my niece (who a little bird told me is getting a 3DS for Xmas) and Steel Diver for myself. Although I may just register it and trade it in if it's boring.
I can't believe the deals you guys get. I just read a post on IGN from a guy who said he picked up stuff like Kirby RTD and NSMBW for $3 each. He didn't say where, but I think Wal-mart.
Meanwhile, I'm already aware of what the Boxing Day deals for video games are for certain retailers here in Canada, and we're talking "From $20" here. They don't even try.
@Guillaume To be fair, Best Buy is the only place with really killer deals. I'm worried about what that means... I seem to remember Circuit City having some great deals right before Christmas, before they announced they were shutting down.
Just picked up Steel Diver. For $5, why not? I did promise my girlfriend I wouldn't buy any more games before Christmas because I know she may be getting me one and she doesn't want me to buy what she is getting me but... this one wasn't on my list so I think it'll be ok.
@rebonack Uh dude... have you been looking at the K-Mart posts in this thread? They give out huge gift cards for most every major release! Amazon is pretty good too, and I hear not so much in Canada.
Canada does get its share of good deals as well. This year alone I bought Sin and Punishment for $10, Metroid Other M for $10 and Excitebots for $5. And who can forget the Deal of the Century? Monster Hunter Tri with Classic Controller for $1 at Walmart earlier this year.
But yeah, I agree that it's sometimes frustrating seeing all these great deals. I'd definitely buy Pilotwings and Steel Diver for $5 if I had the chance.
@Zero That's true. Kmart's gaming coupons are pretty awesome, and I absolutely love Amazon.
It seems to me Best Buy's had some deals that are WAY better than anywhere else though (though admittedly, not on brand new games like Kmart or Amazon). Nintendogs, Pilotwings, Steel Diver, Metroid Other M for $5 each? The cheapest I've seen them anywhere else is $15 (except Metroid). Disneyland Kinect Adventures is $25 AND eligible for a B2G1 and it's barely a month old (though Amazon has since matched that). Saints Row 3 for $30 less than a month after release, too -- $40+ everywhere else. And these are sale prices -- not gift cards that get you back in the store spending more money.
I'm not saying that there aren't other deals out there, but Best Buy is winning by a pretty large margin, IMO.
After playing Steel Driver for 30 minutes I was already bored, so I took it to Gamestop and got $16.50 in store credit for it. Plus the Club Nintendo points!
