I think I could be up for some after the Super Bowl when I get home from the Super Bowl Party I will be attending.

Well I finally picked up the game yesterday. I went to EB Games, asked for it, the girl asked me whether I want the regular one, or the one with the CC Pro added in, and I said just the regular one, she asked me if I was sure, it control better with the controller. Ha! I laughed a bit in my head, thinking don't try and tell me which is better, and just calmly told her that no I prefer the pointer controls, and can't stand dual analog for shooter.

Which of course I do, but one thing I don't like about pointer controls of course is that, well, you really have to customize your control settings to your exact liking, and so far I haven't found my sweet spot. Anyone have what they think are really good control options?

I have yet to try this game with the CC Pro.... I'm wondering how it really compares to pointer controls. However, I do believe that the pointer controls are just simply quicker. I really excel at the smaller multiplayer stages and seem to give people 10 rankings above me a real run for their money. Stages like the Night Club and Archives with lots of stair cases provide awesome opportunity to run down a set of stairs while pointing your gun up high and nailing someone on the level above you.

As for controls - the defaults are not very good although the professional #3 option (or whatever it's called) is decent for a start. This only takes you so far.

I've realized that I really suck at Team Conflict. I'll go 6-10 or something, then win a few rounds of Conflict in a row, handily. Gotta work on my team strategy.

I usually try to stick around someone as their 'wingman' or hope they can be mine. If you are around a noisy sniper though you should get out of there because the noobs tend to stick around after they shoot and think they are still in a good spot not knowing that a bunch of other guys now knows where they are and are rushing to him. You could try just being their 'backup' in case such a rush happens but they are usually in poor cover.

BTW what's the promotional codes stuff? I went to GameFAQs and did those cheats to unlock Invisiblity, Big Hands, and some sort of Tag thing (although I don't see them in the options anywhere except for Invisibility), but these promotional codes seem to be for online. What are they, and what are the codes (that is of course if they aren't user specific codes). I heard that you get a promotional code based on where you pre-ordered the game, and if you got the CC Pro bundle (which is stupid, why should I fork over extra cash for the code when I don't want that controller since I prefer the pointing)?

Does anyone still play?

I think I just encountered another glitch online.

I was playing Golden Gun, and I had the lead with 32 points the last time I checked, and then I see two guys near each other, so I try to take them out, and I think I killed one, but the game then ended immediately, with someone else winning. Huh? How? Did that other person get the Golden Gun and somehow kill enough people that quickly? No, couldn't be. The scoreboard comes up, and it says I have 25 points. WTF?! How did that happen? When I saw those two guys, did one of them kill the other at the same time I killed one, causing some sort of weird error or something? I sure as Hell hope it didn't affect my XP!

More and more I wish that this game had been given a bit more time for polish; it had no business releasing so close to Black Ops, esp. when there was a Wii version. Very bad business move on Activision's part, and hey, if GoldenEye had come out in like Feb, March, or even now in April, maybe Conduit 2 would have also gotten more time to develop, which in HVS case, certainly wouldn't be a bad thing

I think GoldenEye got the polish where it matters most, in single player. Incredibly fun. The online multiplayer is good for what it is, though there are a few annoyances and the leveling system is too slow. Surprisingly the local multiplayer is kind of limited. There are better multiplayer options out there for those who are so inclined.

@anon_mastermind I agree that the multiplayer levelling system is far too slow for its own good. I'm not really sure what they were thinking. I still hop on and play from time to time (when I can manage to usurp control of the TV), and I think I've added everyone here. I don't know who still plays and who doesn't, but I'd be down for a match every now and again.
