It's funny actually. I was just browsing the interwebs for a new DKCR video.

Looking good--I really like DK's animations. I'm a little concerned about the music at the moment, as it sounds pretty remix-heavy so far.

@Pandareus
Looks like a checkpoint marker.

Our first taste of the music. It's sounding good!

Looks awesome

The music isn't doing much for me (at least not yet), but man, the rest of the game looks absolutely PHENOMENAL. Wow.

DKC music is supposed to be atmospheric. I think it sounds pretty good so far

I know I'm going to loose a ton of lives due to staring at the background. Awesome stuff.

I agree.

@GelatinousEncore

Well that's why I'm not impressed. Some of it sounded too cartoony and playful. Then again, I just rewatched it with higher volume and the other half sounds a lot better. Might be a mixed bag...like a Zelda game. I didn't like the Mine Cart Madness track at all but then again I never liked the original track either.

Sounds pretty alright to me... music and sound was what Rare did best, though.

looks great!

...and in other news....I need money.

Its looking really good. I'm disappointed in the music, though. I wish Nintendo wouldn't use their usual people so much. Contract somebody out who ISN'T afraid to use some real instruments. As soon as they said the guy that did Metroid's music was in charge of this I was worried. It has some great music, but organic it is not. Some of it just sounds bad, while some sounds alright. I hope it works better in-game and in a video...

Otherwise, though, the game looks really nice!

I'm glad Nintendo is really dedicated to the 2-D platformer this gen. You just can't get shit like this on the HD twins.

Yeah, I agree. The synth barely sounds better than the SNES, and unlike a game like Metroid Prime, DKC could DEFINITELY benefit from live instruments. I guess Mario Galaxy was the exception rather than the norm...

Zelda better go all-out!

The music sounds alright to me from what we've heard so far, but I'll wait until I have the game in my hands to judge it.

The animation is just so well done. The foregrounds, the backgrounds, the characters and enemies. Everything looks super polished and smooth as butter.

Isn't this out in a few weeks? Where's the advertising?

@anon_mastermind
Agreed

This also has to be the least aliased game I've seen running on the Wii. Retro minimized jaggies very well in Corruption, but this is on a different level.

All the intricate detail that I've come to expect from Retro is present. Looks fantastic.
