Brain-boggling mazes, traps and bizarre pitfalls stand in your way on the journey back to Ufouria. You'll rely on your friends to survive in this strange, changing world, and you'd better have the right powers for the strange worlds you'll encounter. As you make your trek through mystical forests, deserts and oceans, you'll need to seek out and destroy monstrous creatures every step of the way. Will you have the right powers at the right time? Don't let the mind-zapping colors and stupefying sound effects throw you off.

Nintendo DSiWare

Rytmik
Publisher: CINEMAX
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 800 Nintendo DSi Points™
Description: Rytmik is an application for creating rhythmical and melodic themes and composing whole songs. It contains more than 170 carefully selected sound samples of drums, cymbals, percussion, bass and melodic instruments. With Rytmik you can quickly and easily create the basic building block: an audio clip. It consists of musical notations for up to four instruments that you may transpose, select their location in the stereo field and modify their volume, polyphony and echo. You can arbitrarily combine as many as 128 clips in four tracks to create complex pieces of music. You also have a rhythm library with a varied collection of 16 pre-made compositions that can be used to help quickly compose your own pieces. For the best musical experience, we recommend connecting headphones or a quality speaker system (not included).

G.G Series NINJA KARAKURI DEN

ESRB Rating: E (Everyone) - Mild Cartoon Violence
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points

When your ninja touches a platform, it will automatically disappear and he will jump, making for pretty unstable footing. But where some see obstacles, a ninja sees opportunity. You will be forced to think on your feet, push your reflexes and bend the very rules of physics to conquer your treacherous surroundings. Master the art of the dash, shuriken and sword. Be a ninja.

My Farm

If you feed the hen and take care of it, she will lay eggs that can be sold. With this money, you can buy new animals at the Farmers' Market and purchase equipment from the shopkeeper. Little by little, as your farm builds up, you will unlock bonuses including a wind turbine, rooster, guard dog and tractor. You will be able to exchange your animals with your friends who play My Farm or My Exotic Farm. There are six kinds of animals to customize, many farm improvements to buy and bonuses to collect.

Absolute Reversi

Players: 1-2
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points

With the third mode, you can play against a friend using DS Download Play. Additional features include a strategy guide, different ability levels and the "Assistance" function, which highlights all possible moves per turn.

Virtual Console? What's that? :-P Glad to see that the VC isn't completely dead, only mostly dead.

@rebonack

Nice reference there.

And Yet It Moves will be my reward for finishing my final project for school this week (well, the first of four classes).

ALLELUIAH!

Getting both AYIM and Ufouria. And maybe that Ninja game if it doesn't blow.

Pandareus stole my answer. Is Ufouria an import game?

By the way, the G.G. series is a line of cheap DSiWare games made by Suzak (Wario: Master of Disguise, F-Zero Climax, other stuff). Supposed to be decent.

Do you guys know where the name And Yet It Moves comes from? It's kind of cool.

Alright, a good Nintendo Week.

I will keep an ear out for impressions of Ufouria, "mind-zapping colours" and "stupefying sound effects" piqued my interest. Sounds zany.

The name is an English translation of Galileo Galilei's famous (but apocryphal) remark E pur si muove!

I thought FF3 was going to be released. I thought it was confirmed.

@carlosrox

This week? I hadn't heard that. I have heard that it will be released, but I didn't think that it had been dated.

At lunch, I put 2000 points on my account and downloaded And Yet It Moves and Final Fantasy II (IV). I played the first four levels (the entire first chapter) of Moves, earning the Random Achievement to boot. So far, it's not bad. I like the atmosphere and the puzzles that it presented, though I end up dying a little too often (but the checkpoints are plentiful).

The game controls well. You play with the Wii Remote held on its side like an NES controller. Move with the d-pad and jump with the 2 button. If you want to rotate the world, hold the 1 button and rotate the Wii Remote. When you're ready to set the world back to normal, release the 1 button. Just keep in mind that you will retain momentum from your jumps. This leads to a lot of deaths (at least for me, but I'm finally getting the hang of it).

@ludist210
Not for this week. No no no. But I heard it was confirmed awhile back.

Aren't there multiple control schemes for AYIM?

Uforia? I've never heard of that. Hmm..

@carlosrox

Yes, but I just went with the Wii Remote sideways. It works just fine.

Ufouria is an import game for North American gamers.

And Yet It Moves sounds pretty cool. I'll have to look into that.

@Mr_Mustache
It's an import game so probably not that many heard about it. Importers have been raving about it since it was announced though I think.

Man I wonder what ever happened to Sunsoft... they were really something back in the NES days.

Batman
Journey to Silius
Gremlins 2
Blaster Master

They had like a really good 2 year stint and while they didn't disappear never really got back up to their prime.

Mr. Gimmick is another import title that has been raved about but never released over here in the States. Hopefully we'll see that eventually too.

I'm downloading Uforia

@CPA Wei

I see, I see. I'm familiar with Mr. Gimmick.

Wait wait wait. Is this Final Fantasy III (VI) or just plain old Final Fantasy III that got remade on DS and sucks? Because, if III (VI) is hitting VC any time in the near future I will have to buy a huge can o' air and dust my entire room off!!!

It's the actual Final Fantasy III that was remade for DS. I haven't heard anything about Final Fantasy VI coming to Virtual Console, though since IV has come, I wouldn't be surprised if VI follows. VI is awesome, so it'll probably sell a bunch on the VC

@missypissy

Final Fantasy III on the DS was awesome. A buddy of mine and I put TONS of hours into that game.

Coincidentally, I got bored with Final Fantasy VI and quit about halfway through. That game didn't live up to the hype, IMHO.

Been playing Ufouria for about an hour, it's pretty cool. Very Metroidish in the way you earn new abilities to travel more of the map.

@X-pert74

False. What has been announced was Final Fantasy I, IV and VI in their original form when they came out in North America, unchanged, while Japan is getting all 6 games. We won't see II, III or V on the VC.0
