I don't think my backlog needs an RPG with copious amounts of content to join the club so soon, but I'll definitely check this game out at a later date. Maybe next year at the latest.
Still playing Strange Journey. I want to start this up though!!! Should I really play two DS RPGs at once?!
WOAH moment. My niece just walked in while typing this and said "can you play your new game?" And I looked at the screen and there is nothing specifically referencing Dragon Quest IX other than the title bar up there, which I don't think she saw? Besides, I don't think she knows what my new game is called yet...
The more games I stack into a backlog, the less compelled I feel to complete stuff. It's a weird phenomenon, but I try to keep my impulse buys to a minimum because of that.
So I can change vocations now... great, but damn, you start off weak. I want to make my main character a warrior and having to start off with all these basic stats can be a pain. At least having good equipment isn't too bad but do they just want you to grind that new vocation before you start doing serious questing with it?
I do love that the stat points carry over though... but wonder how long it would take to make someone really strong. The experience bonuses are seriously diminished when using a new vocation at a low level.
it is okay to play the game with a character that is much weaker than the rest of your party. I ran through the game for 8 hours with a lv 20 ranger while my 3 other characters were lvl 35 and she was doing just fine. As long as you can keep your character alive then you should have no problem playing with a new vocation.
Yeah, it's not too bad really (though I DO grind a bit when changing to a new vocation). Just put that character in the back row until he gains a few levels and you should be okay.
I'm starting to think the strategy guide might be worth it for this game. I never buy guides, but I usually never get this addicted to the side stuff in RPGs either, and in this game the more you advance the more there is to do. I could use a map to quickly identify where to find certain alchemy ingredients and stuff.
Thanks! Though I was really was just looking for an excuse to buy the guide, and as soon as I tried half-hearthedly to print that map and it wasn't really working out, I went out and bought the guide, haha.
The joke's on me, though, because it doesn't even contain a map like that. It does have a list of ingredients and where to find them, but that's it.
50 hours into the game and I am in the final stretch of the game; however, i have only completed 3% of the alchemy, so that is what I will be working on tonight! I am trying to farm resurrocks and it is taking forever... i want to make my Uber-Miracle Sword
