Top 10 Pokemon Songs [top ten]

So yeah, I like this site's top 10 feature, and I wanted to try it out ... so, I love video game music, and I love Pokemon, so what better way to test it than a Top 10 Pokemon songs list? This list might be a bit generic, but whatever. Also, I should note that I'm leaving out many, many great tunes. It was hard to narrow it down to 10. This series has great music.

Hall of Fame (Diamond/Pearl)

I know it's weird to kick off a list with a song that's in at the very end of every Pokemon game ... but really, this song is great, but not THAT great. I think the Diamond/Pearl version is the best one. Makes you feel like you actually accomplished something.

Tin/Bell Tower (HearGold/SoulSilver)

I don't understand, why did they change the name of the Tower in the remake? Tin sounds better than Bell. Less obvious. Anyway, this song is nice. Chilling. But also makes you feel like you're about to be challenged. And you are, since this plays right before you fight Ho-Oh. I prefer the HG/SS remix because its Japanese vibe makes it a lot better.

Rival Battle (Diamond/Pearl)

Great song. Made fighting the shitty rival much more exciting. It's happy, powerful, and... I dunno, just good. Very good.

Route 209 (Diamond/Pearl)

Ah, route 209. Everyone loves this song. People love it so much, in fact, that they remixed it in Brawl. But, while it is a great song, it's not that great. There are a lot of better route themes, especially in HeartGold and SoulSilver. I think it stands out because the other routes in D/P (save for a few ones) have very "meh" songs to them. It's still nice, though.

Title Screen (HeartGold/SoulSilver)

The classic "Pokemon theme". No, not I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST. The other Pokemon theme. Some people may also recognize it as the main song in Pokemon Stadium 2 in Brawl (I think it's in Pokemon Stadium 1 too? I don't remember). It's a great song, and I think the HG/SS version is the best rendition of it.

Gym (Gold/Silver)

Ah, that "guitar". Classic. This is one song where I feel the remix wasn't able to top it. Best rendition of the Gym theme, so great.

Giratina Battle (Platinum)

Damn, this song certainly is ... different. I couldn't believe it was from a Pokemon game when I first heard it. But I also fell in love with it since that first time. It's a great, freaky song, which perfectly suits Giratina.

Rival Battle (HeartGold/SoulSilver)

THIS is how you do a Rival. And also, this is how you do a battle song. This song is just badass. And the remix TOTALLY nailed it. It goes so well with the dark, badass, evil Rival and the Pokemon he uses with the same attributes (Gengar, Crobat, Alakazam, Sneasel...). Great track.

Kanto Gym Leader (HeartGold/SoulSilver)

Just listen to it. It's insane. And AGAIN, the remix is better. Which is funny, because this is a remix of a remix. Anyway, whatever the case, this song is amazing. Almost the best of the series, but not quite.

Lance/Red Battle

....

......!

You might have noticed there aren't any songs from Ruby/Sapphire on this list. That's because the music in those games is so bad compared to the rest of the series.

Also sorry for so many Gold and Silver tracks. That game's music is just so awesome, lol. And, also sorry for so many Battle songs. It's just that I prefer fast-paced music in general. And every Battle theme in these games is fast paced, so that's why there's quite a few of them on the list.

Again, this was VERY hard to narrow down. So many great tracks that were left out, including (but not limited to): Pokemon Center, Indigo Plateau (G/S), Johto Gym (G/S), Survival Area (D/P), Team Rocket Battle (G/S), etc.

I have a little bit of trivia/music theft for you since you like Route 209 so much; listen to it, then listen to 21 Guns by Green day

Yeah, when I first heard that song I didn't realize they completely stole Route 209. Then when someone told me I couldn't believe I missed it, lol. Just adds to the many elements that make Green Day a shitty band (well, these days at least).
