Each hunting horn played different colored notes, you could work these notes to buff both you and your group. i.e. Playing 2 white notes would give both a speed increase and decrease the chances of your attacks being "broken" by monsters' hides.
Other combos increased resistances, granted temporary unlimited stamina, etc etc. It's a really diverse weapon, and it hits hard, but is very slow. Playing the notes during combat to refresh buffs that have fallen off could be tricky, as they take a while to play, and you move incredibly slowly - but it's a fun weapon, my favorite by far. Not a big "huge sword," fan, but I like gigantic weaponry. So MH3 will have to stay a giant hammer for me. :( |
