Hi Fabz...

Crisis Hearts will probably do a better job.. I'm just figuring it out for myself.. but from what I'm getting from it is this:

- The city has everything you could possibly want - even more then the solo mission (at least so far) This means all your items/weapons/armour carry through, there is a bed for you with your pet 'pig' you met in the solo mission, (the cat is there too) You can save there as well.
-The early quests seem identical to the early solo ones but I think they go up in difficulty pretty quickly because they are intended for multiple hunters to quest together.
-If you see someone around, say hi. Resister yourself in the city at the Tavern (i think)..once you do this you don't have to do it again. No matter what server you go too...
-Once you are registered, you can go on quests etc. If you want to go with someone, look at the "job posting type board" at the bottom of the Quest staircase - there you can find quests to join with other players. If you want a regular type quest, talk to the girl at the big desk right beside it. This is the area where you can sit down at a table...or arm wrestle..
-Everything you collect in quests online (money etc) can carry over to the solo campaign.. Items/potions you have used during an online quest will not be recovered. If you used up all your potions in an online quest..going to the solo quest will display the same amount of items. (Unless you didn't save your game).

I don't have access to a computer where my game system is set up...so know skype for me..

If I've stated something wrong, sorry, I'm also knew at this..

It's making more and more sense. I just want to know how to find/reach/add you guys . where do I do that? how do I know if my friends are online. everyone talked so much shit about Nintendo's online but Brawl and MK was so much easier.

EDIT: I did register. my name is Fabz i guess so put me on the OT

Your added :) As far as I know... once you get to a city...you can search for someone...then I thought that maybe you'd warp to that city..

cool.

Smerd you just missed me. I got your pm.

Now,

does it matter what server and what city you pick?

Once you enter a city, can you see if your friends are online by typing their name on the menu? How does that work

it's very confusing.

I JUST FIGURED IT OUT!! (i think)

Go to any city.... When you first walk in there is a big Board with a torch beside it... (near the loc lac guide and arena desk)

There you can search for what type of quests you want... one of them is "playing with friends" which is neat..it will warp you to whatever server/city the group is in.

Now if you just want to search for friends... press (-) on the classic controller (your hunters menu) and move the right...past Hunter, past Info... it's under the "Online" tab There you can see your friend roster...or you can search for people's names..

Now I haven't used the search option 'successfully" yet because nobody has been On I guess.. but I did make a 'friend' last night and he is on right now..I'll see what he's up too... I should click on his name and go to his server.. YEP.

Awesome

Wow, that's complicated.

If we want to set up a Negative World match, we should call the city NW-somethingorother, for clarity.

I guess my online name got lost in the middle of the paragraph it was in, so to reaffirm:

My name is Grantzor

I'll be jumping online within the next 10 mins, and I'll try to find some of you. Thanks for all the noob help, Smerd.
04/23/10, 03:55
Creating a room... GRANTZOR! I can't meet up cause the room is full...

This "City" Will be called "Negative World Crew" The Password is WHAA (in caps) So seek out "Smerd" on your Hunter (online) menu and you'll find me....

I'll be online...till 10:30-11pm tonight... First come first serve!

After our play session tonight (with Smerd and KGTennispro, I've learned 2 things. First, we all need USB keyboards or some other means of quick communication. Two, we need to play single player more to build up our armor and weapons, lol. Anyway, good times guys, I'm off to play sp all night.
04/23/10, 06:33
Hi Grantzor :)

Yeah..good times...There may be more to it then just quests online..what's the arena area like? Anyways..it was good fun..and yes..Keyboards are a must..at least.. I'm bidding on one now on ebay..

I thought I could name a room when creating it...but I could only do "playing with friends" as the closest option... oh well..

I should have selected "shroom hunt" LOL.. as our quest.. Gotta go to bed..

I'll be jumping on next week myself. I haven't registered yet, but I plan to have two characters:

Ruby (fm), my main - (hee hee, based on one of my novel characters )
Rokninja (mm), secondary

I suppose my name would be Ruby for now. I'll update once I actually get online, but you can go ahead and add me to the OP if ya' want.

I'm text-chat only, I'll need to invest in a wireless keyboard this weekend, lol.

See ya'll online soon!
04/23/10, 08:05
There's really no need to have two different characters as there are no classes. You're character can do anything and is the same either online or off. Think of it as one whole world and you are in it with everyone else. Online just means you are getting together with other fellow hunters.

Spreading yourself thin like that is going to net you less as much items and really just slow you down.
04/23/10, 08:20
Online is so awesome, except for the unstable network part and losing data from the last quest we went on...I had some nice finds. :(

^^^ I've been on a few times...no network issues yet.. Your connection is strong right?

Anyone else have issues?

Dynablade - I'm putting your name up as Ruby. :) Every quest I've done so far I've gotten killed...even the 1 star battles.. A few of us were saying we have to go back to the solo mode and make us a bit stronger..

What is arena mode in the City like?

Every quest you're getting killed? Sounds about right and oh so awesome.
04/23/10, 17:56
I beat Bit.Trip Beat last night (Growth was hard, but easily do-able once I got the patterns down), so I'm starting up at lunch and hope to quest online a little tonight. I'll get my network info up ASAP. Anyone up for a game around 7:30 CST?
04/23/10, 17:57
I'm picking this game up later today and will hopefully jump into the online portion soon after!
04/23/10, 17:58
Arena mode is hard as shit. At least with a starting character (and single-player). It really is a good idea to play the single-player before jumping online. It's kind of overwhelming, otherwise. The single-player quest may seem slow at first, but that gentle pace really is necessary for absorbing the depth of Monster Hunter.

This game really clicked with me yesterday. I finally got enough cash to pimp out a new weapon, make a couple decorations to enhance its abilities, etc. Pretty cool. I'm feeling that Diablo rush with a much more brutal and visceral backdrop.

But I still don't have any pants. Anyway, I'm down for joining you schmoes pretty soon. Anyone else have Wii Speak?

Didn't you guys buy Endless Ocean 2??

Gah. I still haven't found the bundle, I may just buy the game by itself (I already got the Classic Shit anyway). But I've got this L4D2 LAN party on Saturday (yeah, those still exist, haha) so I will not be playing before Sunday. And I probably won't have Wii Speak. Dammit.
04/23/10, 18:13
@anandxxx

I have Wii Speak and I will be using it.
