I did this once last July, before the massive influx of users, so I thought it would be fun to do it again and see how much has changed. The main thing that has changed, of course, is that we have a lot more users now and therefore a lot more voting on games. So for the sake of this write-up, I am only going to choose games with at least 10 votes. I have also decided that in the case of a tie, the game with more ratings wins out. Makes sense to me.

And if you are a current Negative Worlder and haven't rated any games yet, what are you waiting for already? DO IT! Heck, go do it even if you have rated games. And if you aren't a member, why not join up? It takes mere seconds and the benefits last... a lifetime!

It was interesting to look at the ratings, especially the top 5, with a mere .04 separating our #5 game from our #1 game. All in all though, not too many major shifts. Makes me think there could be some major changes in the positions with just a few votes. So if you are a member, maybe you should go make a difference!

Metroid Prime Trilogy shouldn't be up there, in my opinion. Yes, it makes changes but its still basically 3 old games. Why not have Mario All Stars in place of Mario 3? You have to take into account the impact of the game when it came out and Metroid Prime's impact was obviously greater than the Trilogy.

Edit: Else than that, pretty good list. Not my exact list, but can't really complain (although no original Legend of Zelda is somewhat sad to me)

This is just a list of games based off of the ratings given by users here. I thought about excluding comps but decided to leave them in. Super Mario All-Stars just barely missed the cut, it has a 9.53/10 after 25 ratings.

Hmm, without compilations the next game in line would have been Chrono Trigger DS, and it'd be lame to have the same game twice. So without THAT the next game in line would have been...

Well get rating! Link's Awakening is pretty high up there, though it only has 3 ratings.

It is true not many handheld games are rated super high. Even some I would have expected to be higher (Tetris GBA, Mario Kart DS, etc.) aren't.

My heart has sunk to a depth immeasurable from the shunning of one of the greatest games of all time... EarthBound. Excuse me whilst a weep away the remainder of the day at this sourly sad development.

Now that I've beaten Super Metroid, I've been considering rating it, but I don't know what rating I should give it. I'm not giving it a 10, but I don't know what rating I would feel good about giving it.

As noted in the first post, I only took games with 10 or more ratings. Seems like it is more of a Negative World "consensus" that way.

(And yes, I know that isn't what consensus actually means... whatever.)

I guess Ocarina of Time is being rated as a Virtual Console game? It's listed as being a Wii game, whereas all the others reflect their original systems.

That wouldn't be my top ten, but there isn't a single bad game on the list (though I haven't played Chrono Trigger or FFIII/VI to comment on them). Super Metroid would be my pick for number 1 though. I fucking love that game.

I honestly don't like rating games. I hate 'em, enjoy them, or love them. Don't need a number imo.

I much prefer the Wii controls, the original Metroid Prime wouldn't make my top 20, but the Trilogy is a definite top 10.

I'm not big on rating, either, but the process of doing so was interesting, because I had to personally rank all the games I had played. Like, which did I have more fun with, honestly? Metroid Prime or Clu Clu Land?

I rated some more games, but it's kind of a pain to check if something has been added already without a search feature or sections by first letter (A, B, C, etc).

I just put it into the "search" field that's available, and if it's not there, then I create the page myself. I've already created a number of game pages
