Yeah, it was bafflingly fun! I vacillated between enjoying the game design and hating it, but ended the session on enjoying.

Strap on your +1 Ogre Bracers and join the party, NW! It's like the platforming version of Life Force!

Nate and I had another exciting DMFD session, including a nailbiting fruit juggling mission.

You're missing the zeitgeist, NW! Don't be run over by the Dragon Marked For Death hype train. Jump aboard!

Well, Anand and I have done it. We death'd a mark, and a dragon was certainly there to see it!

Interesting experiment in online co-op for Inti Creates. It's definitely fun playing a Mega Man Zero game (in all but name) in online multiplayer, and the playable characters seem to have plenty of variety. Unfortunately each character levels up separately and can't play quests you've unlocked as another character, so if you want to try out each of them you have to start from the beginning each time. I think it'd improve the game a lot if you could just switch as you felt like it. Unfortunately that kinda flows against the whole LOOT and STATS and LEVELED QUESTS thing that Inti Creates clearly prioritized.

I'd agree with that assessment! It was good, baffling fun. I browsed some online threads about this game to see if we missed something. We unlocked the Oracle character, the DLC quests get you the Bandit character, and it seems like people who are really into the game just play the same quests over and over and over at higher levels until all of the highest-end l00t randomly drops. Particularly something called the Cavern of Torment, which seems to be a challenge tower. Maybe that was the final quest that we unlocked?

Anyway, Inticreates did it again! I dunno if it was a home-run, but it was at least a ground-rule double. I can't wait for the highly anticipated sequel: Player Marked For Poison.

Now, onto Gal Gun...
