Anyone who hasn't already got Toki Tori 2+ - get it!!!

Those of you who have already got it, get it anyway. I'll double dip on it just so I can have it on the go, I think. Great game. Also considering Payday 2 since it would be nice with some FPS co-op, but I'm gonna hold off until I hear some Switch impressions.

If anyone has any impressions to give me of Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus, I'm all ears. Or if you've got impressions of the previous game, I'll take those. Want to figure out if this game is for me.

Also, that's digital only worldwide, right?

Pac and Typo man are both really tempting. I was super interested in Typoman when it came to Wii U but never got around to it.

I remember my brother got stuck extremely early into it and said he had no idea what he was supposed to do.

@r_hjort
Toki Tori 2 is also really tempting. I don't even remember if I got the first or second for Wii or Wii U lol. If I did I didn't play too much of it.

Yeah, pretty sure Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is digital-only, everywhere. I haven't played it, but I will definitely download it tonight, so I'll post some impressions later on.

I played the first one quite a lot, and it's a blast. It's not *too* dissimilar from old-school Pac-Man, but much faster, better music, tons of new mazes (that change shape during gameplay) and all kinds of great new challenges. It's the perfect pick-up-and-play kind of game. That perfect kind that makes you say "one more go" so you can try and beat your top score.

If you like fast-paced arcade action, it's a no-brainer.

I do like me some old school arcade munching action! I play the NES port of Pac-Man every once in a while, so your description of this sounds very tempting. Might get this next week as an easy way to kick back a little bit after work.

@carlosrox
Posting a couple of screens in case that helps to jog your memory.

The first game (well, remake of the first game):

Very good, but more traditional puzzling.

The sequel:

More open world, focus on exploration, only two distinct abilities that you get to be creative with and use in many different ways.

@r_hjort

There's a Gamemaker's Toolkit about it, that, if anyone is remotely interested in either game design or how that game works, is absolutely amazing.

Though I would say it's better to play it so nothing is spoiled, then watch the video. But I had no interest in the game UNTIL I watched the video, so...

Yeah. If you want to play Toki Tori 2, don't watch this video. If you don't care (or have played it before) watch it and maybe it will convince you to give it a go!

EDIT: BOOOOOOOOOM! IT ONLY TOOK ME LIKE SEVEN OR TEN YEARS BUT I TOTALLY EMBEDDED THAT VIDEO ON THE FIRST TRY WITHOUT COPYING AND PASTING THE CODE FROM SOMEONE WHO ALREADY POSTED A VIDEO FROM YOUTUBE!!!!!

I know this excites no one but me, but that's a huge boon. Since I came to this place I for whatever reason have not been able to figure out how to correctly embed a video. It's like code dyslexia or something. Finally! Victory! Anyway, watch the great video. :P

I picked up Pac-Man Championship 2. It's a lot of fun! The game mechanics are really clever and it's a great new spin on Pac.

The only downside? No 4P mode. I think I had this game confused with the Pac-Man Battle Royale arcade game I played once. I wish they included that on here too for the casual multiplayer fun!

I downloaded SteamWorld Dig 2 on 3DS this afternoon and started it up. Hey, this game is pretty fun! I recommend it to...anyone, to be honest!

@TriforceBun

Pac-Man Battle Royale looks crazy fun! Do want.

I will grab Pac-Man for sure. My wife's best friend loves Pac-Man apparently, so this should get my wife to play.

Is Pac-Man Battle Royale the one that was going to, but never ended up on the WiiU, where on Pac-Man would get a power-up that made them 3x their normal size, and could chomp the other 3 players (plus ghosts). That game was so fun. Played it at an arcade once.

And, yes, GET TOKI TORI 2! Great visuals, relaxing atmosphere (for the most part), great puzzles.

This your first time with SteamWorld Dig 2? It's an awesome title. I proudly 100%ed on the Switch. Stellar effort from I&F.

Toki Tori 2 is AWESOME. A must play for puzzle platform fans.

@DrFinkelstein

Yes, first time with it! I proudly own it on Switch as well, but shamefully never even fired it up once on the system.

I’ll fix my issue of not playing this game by tackling it on 3DS!

I pulled the trigger on Pac-Man right before I left for work this morning. Haven't put any time into a Pac-Man game in AGES.

@r_hjort

I played a bit of Pac-Man: Championship Edition 2 PLUS for Switch and I can confirm the game is pretty awesome. Tons of stuff to do, all new challenges, modes, leaderboards, and man! The music and action are INTENSE. So much fun. The boss battles are incredible, too. It's a great game and $20 is a slam-dunk price for the game. Especially with the awesome-looking 2-player mode...which I haven't actually been able to try yet, but looks pretty great.

Recommended.

Sounds great! Now that I've come to understand that Payday 2 isn't yet up to date with the other versions in terms of content I've got more cash to spend on something like Pac-Man! At the moment I'm totally engrossed in Zelda's second DLC pack, so it will probably have to wait a while, but it's definitely on my to-get-list now!

I'm definitely having a good time with the Pac as well. The only hangup I really have right now (outside of the lack of a 4P mode) is that sometimes the ghost-catching gameplay element is a little frustrating. I wish it was a tad more forgiving at times rather than having to always cut the ghosts off at the front. I feel like Power Pellets should be more empowering!

Btw, guys: What kind of challenges does it have? Any cool examples?

I don't know if Ace of Seafood has caught anybody's eye, but approach it with caution. The premise is really neat, but the execution is just a bland, mushy, nothing game. If you're interested in it, you'd be better off checking out some gameplay videos on youtube or something.

@r_hjort

Well, it won’t *sound* cool “on paper” but one of the challenges has you activating all the ghosts’ minions, grabbing a Power Pellet, then eating ALL the ghosts and their minions in a row, for a single, huge combo. The crazy “fireworks” and other various “whiz-bang” effects are really satisfying! Plus if you do that during normal play, you’ll light up the scoreboard with literally hundreds of points.

Others have you angering the ghosts, having them chase you, then “Bomb Jump” to the beginning, grab the Power Pellet and wipe out the ghosts from behind...its engaging and intense!

Just a couple that I remember off the top of my head. It’s pretty fun!

I've been enjoying Pac-Man more now that I feel a little more comfortable chasing the ghost trains. I even got in the top 50 for a few of the leaderboards! I'm Bun.

Sounds pretty good! Would you say there's variety to the challenges? I mean, I know it's Pac-Man and that there's only so much you can do to switch things up, but yeah.
