Rocket League for the Nintendo Switch is now available! This isn't just a weird soccer with flying cars game. Well...it is, but it can be much more than that! There's unlockable content, numerous arenas, modes, training, ranked battle, and cross play with Xbox and PC players! Nintendo exclusive content is also being made available.
NW members are encouraged to team up and have some online fun!
@GameDadGrant ? You can play single player against computer AI, do seasons and such. You just get computer AI partners on your team.
I warn you though, unless they fixed the computer AI since I last played the PS4 version a few months ago, your computer partners will suck and make a lot of dumb mistakes. It's frustrating to lose a game by a single goal after your AI teammate hits the ball in your own goal.
The AI on the other team will suck too of course, but it FEELS like your teammates are dumber.
One of my complaints is the same thing I ran into with the PS4 version, which is that matching doesn't really always (or even that often?!) set you up with people at your level. Having 3 rookies go up against a team of veterans and pros well... it's not really that fun.
But that's a minor gripe, otherwise it has been a lot of fun playing online!
I watched my son play a match online last night. His team won! He even got to contribute a bit, since he was able to score (one goal, but hey)!
And yeah, I *watched* him play a match. Which means - for the first time in my house - the Switch was actually docked! And playing on a TV! Crazy, I know. But it happened. This is history in the making here, folks.
@Secret_Tunnel That understandable but there are a number of in game sounds that you want to hear clearly. I will say that the soundtrack for this game, on the title screen, has grown into something really special through the years.
@GameDadGrant I always thought Mustache and the WiiU would have changed your ways. Who would of thought your own son would make you change! You must by a great dad.
Man, the main thing keeping me from playing more online is the matchmaking keeps putting me with people way better than me. Where are the other n00bz at?! It's not fun when your team loses a 5 minute match 10-0. I know matchmaking is tough but I'd seriously wait longer to get a match with people actually at my level.
And the fact that this turns me off to playing more of course means I'll never catch up. BLAH.
