Call me crazy, but this game is actually starting to grow on me.

I mean it doesn't look greaaat, but it could be fun.

Was anyone actually expecting this to be bad?

I mean, I know it's not the Pikmin game everyone was expecting. But it looked quality from Day One.

I'm still skeptical. I don't plan to pick this up. I need to see more. Taking away the third dimension concerns me.

Looks nice visually though.

Arzest's bad track record is the main problem. But I guess they could surprise everyone.

The problem I see is it looks like there are a lot of stages where you only take one type Pikmin with you. No Pikmin management.

Oh shoot… yeah… that's not building confidence in me.

Arzest's Game Library: (per Wikipedia)
Wii Play: Motion (Wii, 2011) - Developed Games: Spooky Search, Jump Park, and Cone Zone[citation needed]
StreetPass Mii Plaza (Nintendo 3DS, 2011)
Time Travelers (Nintendo 3DS, PSP, PS Vita, 2012) - Character modeling
Slot Monsters (Android, iOS, 2013)
Yoshi's New Island (Nintendo 3DS, 2014)
Terra Battle (Android, iOS, 2014) - Graphic design
Boost Beast (Android, iOS, Browser, Kindle, 2015)
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Nintendo 3DS, 2016)
Hey! Pikmin (Nintendo 3DS, 2017)

Particularly, I did enjoy the Mii Plaza… but Yoshi's New Island was a letdown IMO.

@GameDadGrant I'm kind of expecting it to be bad.

But I hope it's decent.

Don't forget that Arzest is basically just a reincarnation of Artoon, which didn't have a great track record itself...

I think I'll like this more than most since I seemed to get more out of New Yoshi than most people did.

Don't get me wrong this game probably isn't gonna rock my world or anything. I'm just looking for a couple pleasant hours here.

I think the gameplay could work as long as they focused on it (as opposed to maybe just trying to recreate Pikmin 1-3 gameplay in a 2D space). If they treat it like it's own, maybe it'll be better than we all think.

Hoping for the best!

I'm curious about it. But Yoshi's NEW Island was pretty plain, so they're not going to get the benefit of the doubt from me.

I think you and I are in the same boat. I also enjoyed Yoshi's NEW Island. (I also liked Yoshi's Island DS, but don't tell anyone!)

Expect the worst and hope for the best...er, okay-ish?

I want more real Pikmin, but this could be a fun distraction while I'm waiting, so I'm all for it.

Man, Nintendo really keeps Arzest in business. Like the one guy who likes Dr. Pepper.
Posted: 06/13/17, 07:41:42

Dr. Pepper is the best. Maybe apart from Root Beer, but easy second if so.

@GameDadGrant I actually think Yoshi's Island DS is a good game, it just didn't live up to the SNES game.

The good thing about Hey! Pikmin is that it isn't trying to expand on a past game, so hopefully that means it'll turn out better.

Agreed on all points.

@J.K. Riki
It's the guy!

If you like Rootbeer, you should try Sarsaparilla.

I hope we can collect Dr. Pepper cans/bottles in HEY! Pikmin.

I've heard of Sarsaparilla only in legend. Old timey western legend.

@J.K. Riki

When I was a kid I found sarsaparilla candy in the store and I harassed my mom about letting me try it.

When I say kid I mean 16.
