A new entry in the Super Mario series is upon is! We are just days away now from the glorious Super Mario Odyssey! Run, jump, and explore your way through plenty of 'Kingdoms' setup similarly to the great Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine! This is the Mario game everyone has been waiting for!
Check out Nintendo's now-famous Super Mario Odyssey 1:30~ long commercial!
And check out some of the glorious screens as well! Soon you'll be able to use the special mode found inside the game to pause the action at anytime for a photo, but you can also change the angle in anyway way also. Quite a neat feature.
@Secret_Tunnel Yeah, haha, BotW was nuts; I played that game religiously for a month and it still took me five weeks and 150-ish hours to finally take on Ganon.
From what I hear, SMO has a lot of content, but a big part of the appeal is seeing new Kingdoms and bosses, and I don't want to do that stuff too quickly.
@cooliocuneo Haha, I'll be surprised if Carlos beats it before he hits retirement!
It would be nice to take it that easy with all games though. And in Zelda's case I can understand it since there's so much to see and do that you can play for hundreds of hours without feeling a need to beat it.
I've been using the split Joy-Cons in the hour or so that I've played so far, even though I have a Pro controller. I'm not sure if I like the motion controls or not. The buttons and analog sticks on the Joy-Con controllers feel cramped since I'm so used to the Pro controller, but I'll give it more time before abandoning them.
I’m having so much fun flipping my commemorative coin that came with my Best Buy preorder. I just found out about it last week after preordering back in January. It even came packaged separately! Top notch! I just wish UPS could sort packages correctly and my actual game had arrived today. Lol.
Glad you all are having fun. Maybe I’ll just try and see if I can finish area 4 in Metroid tonight.
Edit: Sorry for the grumpy dad moment. I think I'm better now.
I feel like I found every moon in Cascade Kingdom that I'm able to find at this moment in time...but, maybe I haven't. I discovered a number of little nooks and crannies that I didn't know were there; so many secrets everywhere! The stuff they are doing with the 2D levels integrated into the edges of cliffs is awesome. I'm loving those much in the same way that I appreciated the similar mechanic in A Link Between Worlds, and how that opened up so many more possibilities for exploration and puzzle-solving.
I've noticed that when I go BACK after clearing the story stuff, that there's more things around than before? Is that the trigger? Beat all the 'story' moons in a Kingdom to open up more stuff? Does EVERYTHING open up then, or do I have to go further still?
I'm still missing around 10 moons, and I'm buggered if I know where they are. Just don't know if it's because I suck or something else that I trigger later on to make them accessible.
Ditched the joycons for my pro controller, and now I feel 100% confident in all my sweet moves again. I was a big wiimote/nunchuk combo fan, so I'm kind of disappointed in a way, but this feels so much better to me. The shaking motions are a bit less comfortable, but I can live with that. Now for some kick-ass platforming!
