I would certainly hope so. I'd buy that thing day one!

I'm leaning towards "yes," especially since I think the idea is getting traction online. The D-Pad issue is becoming more prevalent--yeah, we can always buy a Pro Controller, but the Joy-Cons are so appealing that I'd really prefer a couple of those instead. Count me in for buying one; those VC games won't do with an analogue stick.

Unsure. It would have to replace the analog stick and not the buttons, though, right? At least for VC purposes, and for using it separately. I guess either way, that limits its usefulness. Unless you can cram a d-pad and and analog stick and buttons on the dang thing, but that seems unlikely.

Could happen but I wonder how comfortable it'll be to use the buttons as a D pad. By the time they release one, maybe I'll just be used to the buttons instead that I wouldn't even bother getting one.

@Koovaps
I agree with you.
Nintendo seems to be pushing the Joy Cons as mini-controllers when detached, and the one pictured above wouldn't have any proper buttons on its face.

That said, I'd love if they did.

I voted No. They have the Pro Controller for that. I think this is it. Mainly because of Paul and Brandon's thoughts. While the D-Pad on a Joy-Con solves one 'problem' it also creates another for one of the core functions of the device. If it happens, it won't be for some time.

Not sure... And then what about analog shoulders... do they release another JoyCon for that? As much as I'd want one, and I really do, I'm not sure I see them releasing one.

I'm guessing "no" because Nintendo think the Pro controller is for anyone who wants a D-pad. However, if enough people complain about it, Nintendo may release one at some point. They do like to make da monies on accessories.

If the Switch sells well, they will cash cow as many different Joycons as they can. So I vote yes, because I think the Switch will do well.

What they should do is release a cart with like 10 VC NES games and then package it with two joycons that look just like the NES pad.

Yes, there will be a bunch of variants, tis the beauty of the Joy-con design.

I'm on team Nah. It could be cool, but would have very limited uses. Rather than that, how about some kind of D-Paddish contraption that balances on top of the four buttons?

As an aside, this thing HAS to support the Gamecube adapter, right?

@J.K. Riki
Ooo, that's a neat idea, actually.
