I'll be picking it up but I dunno if I'll be trying it just get as I need to finish the game first. I could finish in a few weeks if I focus on it (keep in mind I only get so much time to sit down and actually enjoy this game).

Does Hard mode do a new save file? I heard it did.

@carlosrox
Yes, it sadly requires starting a new game. I'll likely be passing.

@legendofalex
That's what I want!

It doesn't OVERWRITE your current game though, that was my issue with it if it were the case

I might grab it, since I just scored a ton of discount N-Dollars. They're burning a hole in my Switch!

I put off finishing the game until the DLC came out, just in case they threw in a bunch of neat QoL stuff.

I've been playing Master Mode, just got to Kakariko. It's a lot of fun! Be prepared for some tough battles early on. Pretty enjoyable overall, although I'm not sure what to think of the regenerate-HP mechanic. Not sure yet if it adds to the experience or is just annoying.

The biggest surprise for me so far was stumbling upon a White Lynel on the Great Plateau. Yikes!!

And yeah, it does essentially give you a second save file, thank goodness.

Miiiight finish this game very soon here. I wanna get on that Master Mode. Sounds like the real game, might as well start new game on that.

Look forward to it so much.

Basically gonna finish up around Death Mountain, do the DB, then I'll have Hyrule Castle to do.

I hate to "finish the game" but then the second quest starts and I get to reexperience the game all over again! Then it REALLY will be play at my own pace! Plus with added challenge/content!

Awesome!!!!

I doubt I'll ever do Master Mode, but I'm looking forward to finding the new items (very happy to learn that they're tied to sidequests instead of just given to you), trying out the Hero's Path and Trial of the Sword, and hunting down the last 400-ish Korok Seeds with the help of the Korok Mask .

I don't know that I'll ever bother upgrading all of my clothes, but I think I want to do everything else.

Divine Beast was wonderful, almost time for the end!

I am loving this Master Mode. It's really changing the game. I think I'll try to do a non-100% kind of run. Like a bare bones, just beat the four divine beasts, then Ganon kind of thing in this Master Mode. Should prove tricky. So far it is but getting myself off the plateau has been exhilarating all over again.

I saw someone playing the DLC on the plane ride back from Canada. It was cool to see another Switch "in the wild." Both of us had the red/blue joycon setup too.

I'm looking forward to playing BotW again come December! Won't go near Master Mode (game was hard for me as-is) but I'll gladly play all over again in normal mode. :)

@DrFinkelstein
Sounds lovely! You're making my final days on my first quest that much tougher!

Did some Paya fan art because Paya is the best. Probably going to ink and color it, but not sure yet.

Looking good!

That reminds me, another Paya fan online detailed his insane task of bringing his favorite character (Paya) to his favorite location (Hyrule Castle) by essentially moving a series of giant crates via Magnesis to slowly herd her towards the location. It took him many, many hours.

@TriforceBun

Did he manage it?! I don't think I'd spend many, many hours, but I would love to have some photos of her in other locales. I... pretty much exhausted every angle and view on her normal daily path, lol.

I read through it last night, this is hilarious. I'm a sucker for this sort of thing. Post more like it if you hear about them!

Friday night I will free Hyrule from the clutches of Ganon.

Tears will be shed.

@Secret_Tunnel

I cried at the end.

I don't know if I suck at this game or what, but Master Mode and Trial of the Sword both kick my ass
07/06/17, 23:18
Paya is a pretty great example of a Japanese archetype of cuteness that appeals to me so little that I always initially find it surprising when other people respond well to characters like her... then I remember that people love that stuff. Of course people love Paya!

Anyway, mother of GOD that must have taken FOREVER. Could he have nuked the eyeball at the end there with Urbosa's Fury? I don't think I ever tried since I always had plenty of arrows and you know... I wasn't pushing a character across hell's half acre.
07/06/17, 23:32
@Secret_Tunnel

Poor Paya is going to develop some serious Stockholm Syndrome.

...And now I'm imagining a version of Taken where Link is the kidnapper, and Cambo's Donkey plays the Liam Neeson role, vowing to find Link wherever he goes.
