Ploot and DrFinkelstein Discuss The July 6th, 2017 Nintendo Direct about Splatoon 2
@VofEscaflowne Yeah, maybe it IS the weight, oddly enough. The weight of the Wiimote was perfect. Freehand Joy Con aren't too ergonomic, either. And the right analog is hard to reach. Maybe a grip or that battery pack would help?
No way! I have hard enough time with the controls people LIKE, lol.
I started seeing Splatoon when I close my eyes, so I guess it's time for a break. Weird, usually it takes WAY more play-time to get me to that point. The worst was Tetrisphere. I couldn't sleep I would see it in my dreams... Anyway, I should take some time away from Splatoon.
Awesome! Splatfest stage Shifty Station, and the ink colors match Mayo and Ketchup!
Uhg, I can never remember how to embed videos. Anyhoo... I'm at work, and should probably, you know work. Can someone fix this? https://youtu.be/gGMyEy4fyiw
I'm using the Joycons in the Joycon grip. I tried using them without the grip first since that's how I played Breath of the Wild, but it felt off somehow.
Finally going to bed. Looking forward to Splatfest in the morning. What a fun night of Splatooning.
We managed a private match comprised of the following people.
Octorockin, JKRiki, Ploot, Carlosrox, his brother, TheOldManFromZelda, PogueSquadron, Guillaume, a random NWR person, my Twitter friend Ian, VofEscaflowne, and Kgtennispro. I don't think I missed anyone but correct me if I'm forgetting someone.
We keep doing turf war and having one or two people spectating taking turns. It was fair. It was tough. It was an evening to remember in Splatoon history.
Thanks for that tip. The right-stick only while swimming seems like the missing piece of the puzzle. I haven't been able to utilize that a ton in the single-player so far, but I have been practicing in the hub areas and I'm getting the hang of it and am getting a lot faster in this scheme.
Speaking of the campaign, like the first game I'm glad that this isn't a total throwaway mode. Some really inventive stuff on display; the first boss fight had me grinning.
I know I sounded like an old grump when wondering about the furries in my plaza, but seriously, there's something weird going on. It's mostly furry stuff today too, plus an artwork which was basically an inkling getting her face showered in mayo in a, let's just say suggestive, way.
Oh well, I earned a crap ton of money in Salmon Run today, and now it's Splatfest! Today's a good day to be a squid/kid.
@Anand Yeah, I think it's no coincidence that the mayo is a bit yellowish and the ketchup is closer to orange than blood red.
I'm not exactly a prude or anything, but I'm not a fan of people sexualizing the Splatoon space. Some raunchy double-entendres or references that might fly over the heads of the kids is one thing, but squid bukkake is too much for me, even if it is 'mayonnaise'.
I really need to get back to turf warring though. I'm still level 8, and I got my ass kicked the first two splatfest matches strolling in directly from Grizzco. But Salmon Run is just too much fun to me.
Thankfully, I haven't seen any of these apparently nasty posts.
But I do really like the colors this time around! They look great together. It's also fun to imagine that we're actually fighting with mayo and ketchup; makes me hope other liquids are in later Splatfests (milk vs. soda? peanut butter vs. jelly? choclate vs...well, not sure if anything would beat chocolate)
I didn't see anything nasty but I also saw a LOT of references to furries last night. What was that all about?!
@DrFinkelstein I was there too! For like two matches! The my respective teams lost! While I came in last place on my teams! I wonder why no one remembered me...
Coffee. Only thing I can think of that might have a chance against chocolate. Not for ME, but for a loooooot of people. Only difficulty is the colors would be too similar!
I just played seven matches and my team lost all of them! I can't even see the rankings to reassure myself that at least I performed better than my teammates! AAAAH!!!!
Splatfests are cool though. This is the first one I've ever done, man they do an awesome job of making it feel like a big event.
That was before it. We tried making a team of Octorockin, VofEscaflowne, my nephew, and I this morning but after eight or so attempts, nothing would stick. We'd time out each time. Later this evening I did join Canonj and his nephews for a bunch of matches. So I dunno what was up with this morning.
You're right. My apologies. We had about 13-14 people overall across the night and I was trying to remember them all from my bed when I was about to sleep. No disrespect good sir!
