Done! I'll spiffy thus one up a but when I get back from out of state. Here for some sudden family business.
However, my copy of Xenoblade Chronicles X is arriving tomorrow and I am stoked! The reviews have been generally positive. I guess the game lacks slightly in areas but they can be overlooked for the sheer density and fun this game has. Looking forward to diving into it next week. Hopefully when I return sunday.
@Zero You can always change your class and division later. Become a Galactic Knight for the Harriers, or stick with the Interceptors and try to master rifles and stuff instead. Or you could just choose not to care about all the bonuses and do whatever. I guess.
@Zero If I were you I think I'd work towards the light saber/photon saber classes while sticking with my division, and then, if I'd enjoy the sabers I'd consider swapping to another division. Like @VofEscaflowne says, you can get the sabers no matter what division you are, you'll potentially just miss out on the perks of the class bonus effects.
The game makes no mention of missions that are timed which the first one had... so I'm hoping not. But who knows. The game is freaking massive that getting everything probably would take waaaay too long and require a guide which kinda ruins the fun.
I was talking to someone, may've been in this thread back a few pages, may've been in PM, I'm not sure (sorry), but we've determined that you PROBABLY can't get your Field Skill to max out for Mechanical, Archaeological, AND Biological, which means that you DEFINITELY won't be able to get EVERYTHING. And that stinks, yes.
OR we're wrong, and you can totally do that somehow.
One way to know is to check achievements I suppose. If there's an achievement for getting the rate of every area to 100%... or even just one area, then it's pretty weird to put in achievements which can't all be unlocked.
I've unlocked Achievements, and I've gone to LOOK for "how'd I do that?," and I can't find them. There are sooooo many in there its ridiculous.
QUESTION: When you're out on the field, can you quick travel DIRECTLY to the barracks, or do you have to get to one of the gates first? I can't see to toggle on the city map when I want to, though I have found that you hit the little.."you are here" type of deal, it shifts the map a little bit.
I think if you're viewing the Mira map, it shows the little previews of the NLA map on the right side of the GamePad. The barracks is highlighted I believe. I've never tried if it fast travels you right to that location but I don't see why it wouldn't.
Little previews..the only things I remember (not looking at it) over there are a keyboard, a piece of paper (which I have no idea what it does; I think I pressed it before and nothing happened), and some greeting gestures. I know theres that one map option that changes the overlay though, which I use often.
It should be to the left of those icons when viewing the Mira map. At least I'm pretty sure... don't have the game running right now so maybe confusing it with some other thing.
I'll poke around next time. Star Wars Trivia is tomorrow so I'll be done watching Star Wars every night. That'll give me some much needed freeeee tiiiiiiime. I miss it.
I believe I started chapter 3 and did some work there. I wandered around, trying to plant probes. Discovered new things. Did some side quests. Beat a few tyrants. But I cannot remember any specific details from the late night session.
I wish I could watch some quick tutorial on how this game works or differs from Xenoblade. I've been playing it and sometimes I feel like fighting is random but I know it's not. Also, I feel like I don't know how to use the map right. I'm a Pathfinder right now hoping to explore and find beacons and such. How does the hex grid work? All these questions need to be answered!
I am very confused. I get to chapter 4... but can't start chapter 4 until I survey 15% of Primordia. Which I assume means going out and placing the probes? But all of the places I am finding to place probes now say something about my field level not being high enough. WTF is field level and how do I get it higher?!
/EDIT Well I got my field level higher, but I'm still kind of confused about what exactly gets your survey level up. Mine is stuck around 12%.
When you look at your map screen, focus on the hexes you've discovered that don't have probing locations. They should have some other type of symbol instead, like a monster head or a what looks like a page from a book, something that tells you you've got some sort of task to perform. I think the monster head shows you that there's a tyrant active in that area for instance, so if you go there and slay the beast your survey level will go up. I think finding landmarks or unexplored areas will raise your level as well. I think.
