Hype is over, someone make a Game thread!

Done! I'll spiffy thus one up a but when I get back from out of state. Here for some sudden family business.

However, my copy of Xenoblade Chronicles X is arriving tomorrow and I am stoked! The reviews have been generally positive. I guess the game lacks slightly in areas but they can be overlooked for the sheer density and fun this game has. Looking forward to diving into it next week. Hopefully when I return sunday.

@Zero

Maybe they're daydreaming. How exciting can it be staring off into a desert all day, all night..?

Maybe they enter sleep mode after a while.

Later on when you're trying to sneak by something that you should totally be able to sneak by, but you can't because "thats how the game set it up," you're going to regret complaining about this now. I promise you.

HINT: Don't even bother taking up the "Recover the Lost Drive in Oblivia" mission until you're Lv 50 or above.

@Mr_Mustache

If that's the one I think it is, I did that one under level 30… but i had to lure away that huge monster and do a leap of faith back to the location prior to the respawn of the enemy. It was a close one and I knew I was doing something I probably wasn't intended to, lol.

Now the Prone Sweet Prone mission, that's something I shouldn't have started at such a low level.

Hmmm... I think the Blood Lobster may be my favorite part of the game so far

So I'm level 50 now... Maybe I should go ahead and get back to the story... Then again I might as well get a level 50 skell just to own the fact that I'm ridiculously overpowered for everything at this point.

I've found myself humming the NLA theme this morning, complete with vocals and everything.

I hate this game.

@mrbiggsly

I hate that friggin lobster quest. I loved it too, up until about #50. Then it's all but impossible, it seems. :/

@J.K. Riki

I've heard of this but what is the Lobster Quest exactly?
01/13/16, 18:26
@J.K. Riki

I only made it as far as the introduction... I imagine it'll get annoying soon. Thankfully I have no shame when it comes to looking things up online for this series.

@DrFinkelstein

A madman known as The Blood Lobster has placed 100 explosive stuffed lobster dolls around New LA that you have to find and throw as far as you can so they explode in a safe place.

@mrbiggsly

Hmm... I should go start this quest....
01/13/16, 20:10
Yeah when I found the Blood Lobster quest I said to myself, "This is definitely one I must finish".
01/13/16, 21:17
I finally started this monster, so look for me soon!

...Or maybe not soon, I dunno how this stuff works. I feel like I'm playing a fighting game where I just press buttons and hope stuff works. Did you guys ever write that FAQ? :)
01/13/16, 23:24
@DrFinkelstein

Prone Sweet Prone is impossible to me. I tried for about 3 hours straight one night. Did you beat it at a low level? I got to the guy, but not the key.

@Mop it up

Did NOT write up the FAQ. Are you struggling with battle? I spent a while farting around before I even got to the city figuring things out. It should probably suggest that on the box.

@Mr_Mustache

Yeah, I was under level 30. Probably like 26-27. But I didn't fight the monster who guards it. I lured him away and the moment he gave up, I bolted for the item and grabbed it. He respawned and came after me but it didn't matter at that point.

@DrFinkelstein

InTRIGUING.. Now I feel like I want to challenge it again.

I was trying to go around the outer/upper rim, including running up that big pipe. I got clear ONCE (did you use a Skell??), but when I tried to get back up to the grassy area, a zig caught me every time. GARBAGE.

@Mr_Mustache

Sorry, I got confused. Very tired tonight. Prone Sweet Prone is not complete yet. I know exactly what you're talking about and it's a bitch. I'll need to tackle that when i'm like level 50 or something.
01/14/16, 03:57
@DrFinkelstein

HA!! Yeah.. I made my way to the guy, and then he's like "..we need a key!" WHAAAAAAAAAT.

I still have NO IDEA how that is a 1 star mission. That has to be a misprint, unless we're doing it VERY WRONG.

That said, I'm Lv40 now. I wonder if myself, Elma, and Lin can handle ONE guy..?
01/14/16, 04:15
@Brick I just got it as well. Considering that right now I'm basically waiting for Frontier Nav to amass the ridiculous amount of money I need to purchase a level 50 Amdusias I'm fine with this taking a while.

I got up to the beginning of chapter 4 last night, but it won't let me start it. Boo!

Oh yeah, a couple of quick questions if anyone knows, sorry if this has been answered already:

1. Does this game have a limited inventory like the first Xenoblade? I really didn't like that about that game.

2. Is it possible to max out every division? What about every class? Do I really have to pick and choose, or will I miss out on maxing everything if I spend too much time in one thing?

3. Can I switch classes for party members, or only my character?

@Mr_Mustache I haven't lost any battles, but I can't say I know what's going on. I've been fighting everything I can that's been around my level in order to gain the experience points and such, so I think I've just been getting through things from having better numbers. When that stops working, I'd be in trouble...

The tiny text doesn't help. I can't always take the time to read things.

@Mop it up

1. I don't know if this goes for every collectible, but I've noticed that once you get 99 of the items you collect in the field (or you mine), you start getting 100 credits instead for each. So no inventory purge necessary.

2. Max out a division? I don't think they level up or anything. You can switch at a console in the barracks. As for classes, you can switch at any time, and you probably should, once you hit level 10 of a class, since it then stops leveling up. What you should look out for is spending all your Battle Points on skills and arts that you might not end up using much.

3. You can only change the class of the main character. But you can upgrade everyone's arts and skills.
01/14/16, 21:04
@Guillaume 1. I'm not talking about the amount of each item, but rather the number of different items you can hold. For example, in Xenoblade, there's only so much weapons and equipment you can carry, so you eventually need to start selling/trashing your stuff to hold new stuff. So you can't collect everything, which is what I like to do.

2. Ah, perhaps I misunderstood the information on the division select screen. It was showing conditions for earning points or something within that division, so I thought you had a rank in each division that you leveled up by completing the tasks it lists. I guess I'll need to take a closer look at it next time.

Is there a limit to the BP you get, or would I eventually be able to max out every arte if I played enough?

Thanks for answering my questions.
