@TriforceBun Because Nintendo / Intelligent Systems are idiots and think we need 100 Fire Emblem games and no Advance Wars games.

Probably the more realistic answer is Fire Emblem sells better. And Days of Ruin probably didn't sell very well at all.

@Zero

Neither did FE: Shadow Dragon and I doubt the other FE DS game that didn't make it West sold well. That's why FE: Awakening was supposed to be a last hurrah for the series. And we know how that went.

Maybe Intelligent Systems should give Advance Wars a last hurrah and we can see if that sells. Just think of all the map packs and COs they could sell as DLC.

OMG. Yes. YES. I want this now. I need this in my life!

@GameDadGrant

It's not the demo, it's the system.

@Stephen

If that bothers you, look into assisting some Native Americans (or Native Canadians?) in the very near future. They've got it worse than EVERYBODY. Nobody talks about them ever. Period.

Lemme know how it goes, very much interested.

@GameDadGrant and Louuuuu

Oh you guys

People talk about them, Shirley's friend is doing research on Canadian natives. People don't talk about them enough though, this is true.

...but we did just get a game that was built in collaboration with Alaskan natives to help "share, celebrate, and extend culture" with proceeds going to their education fund.

And it's on Wii U even!

@TheOldManFromZelda Lou stealing my jokes I see.

@Zero

Oh yeah? Hmm. Did you pick it up? I'm "intrigued," I'll say that.

And yes, Lou stole your joke. His was funnier though and more in your face. Next time, use more CAPS.

Nah I don't have time for video games anymore and my backlog is a million miles long. I might get it eventually though.

@Mop it up

I feel like this has been known for awhile, but Birthright/Conquest looks to be the western name for these games.

@gojira Yeah, it's strange, those names have floated around for a while, but they still have not been "officially" confirmed (Nintendo's website does not have any subtitles for the games, for example). They're pretty much everything but, though.

So I have kind of been on a media blackout on the new Fire Emblem outside of Nintendo Directs. I started replaying Awakening this week in anticipation of the new games. Without much spoilers, what's the concensus on this game compared to Awakening? Also, any word on which version is better, birthright or conquest? I'll be buying it digitally so I guess I'll have to choose while I play.

@Scrawnton

I don't know how they compare to Awakening but the tiny previews I saw seem to be positive. The only thing I know about each version is that Conquest is supposed to be harder than Birthright so if you intend to play both, I guess it would be better to start with Birthright. People who get the special edition have immediate access to Revelation but I'm not sure how that ranks in difficulty compared to the other two but it's probably not a good idea to clear that one until the others have been beaten I would imagine.

@VofEscaflowne Alrighty, I will probably just do birthright and then download revelations and play that second. Doubt I will do all three.

@VofEscaflowne
@Scrawnton

Why are there 3 Fire Emblem 3DS games, and 0 Fire Emblem Wii U games?
02/12/16, 03:20
@Mr_Mustache

There's actually 4 if you count Revelation. And SMT x Fire Emblem is coming for Wii U!

Jose & Peer, from the Nintendo Voice Chat podcast, are losing their shit about these games on the latest episode.

Still no release date for stoopid Europe.

@Super_Conzo

Yeah I saw Peer raving about it on Twitter. Apparently Conquest is pretty damn difficult too... though I guess it can always be countered with the difficulty settings anyway.

I listened to the FE:Fates episode of NVC and it completely sold me on the game. I loved the first game because it was more casual than Path of Radiance, which is the only other game outside of Awakening that I played and beat in the series.

I plan on getting "Birthright" and it just seems like the perfect game to have on 3DS to remind me why the system is so darn good (you know, dragon quest remakes will solidify it as the system of all time, but this game could definitely help). I am excited to get into this game at the end of the week.
02/16/16, 02:09
This is pre-loaded and ready to go on my 3DS. Can't wait until Friday to give it a spin! I actually have the day off too, so...yep.
02/16/16, 18:44
@ludist210 is the game ready for preload? I'll have to buy it when I get home.
02/17/16, 16:26
@Scrawnton

Yessir. I pre-loaded it last week. Just get one...the second will be available for a discounted price within the game.
