I'm beginning to wonder if I should continue bothering with this game or at least to the extent that I have. I've maxed out enough guys to the point where every team I use is totally max level and I still rarely S-rank new stages without items. Maybe I need to start strategizing more with the powers and stuff, but with just the optimize teams the game is no longer really interesting me much.

Pretty dickish of them to have Scatterbug practically mandatory to beating Spewpa and having Scatterbug's catch rate so low. I got lucky with a Super Catch Power myself.

Has anyone worked out what level is the natural stopping point for Darkrai yet? I haven't found anything online.

I just finished level 50 no items by the skin of my teeth. Assuming that was just a natural spike, I might try pushing onto 100 and see how I go.

Nope, I'm at level 25 or so. I caught him with 6% (more escalation good luck).

I beat all the main stages and S-ranked one of them with no items. Then I S-ranked the one with 3 moves since it's so easy with a +5 moves. For now I'll turn my attention back to Darkrai.

I've played up to 214 (haven't caught or S-ranked any of the new ones yet), and I've played Darkrai up through Level 30, I think. Caught him a few levels back, which surprised me a little because I got him to three shakes all the way back at 1%, so I figured I would catch him really early on or much closer to Level 50 rather than somewhere right in the middle.

I caught him somewhere around 10%. I wasn't paying attention and I didn't realize I caught him till a few levels later.

I'm at round 50 now. Just one more life to get the item and stop that charade. Then I'll try the rest of what I have to do, like the new levels.

Spewpa S-rank. *Zero* moves used, combo of 94.

There's a couple more of those at lv 100 etc. Depending on the difficulty, it could be worthwhile for you to go further. I went to 100 on Cresselia, but not Giratina.

Done with Darkrai and I'm stuck on 216 now. Even with a completely super effective/MAX level team, I still can't beat it. Guess I'll pull out some items on my next go around since I'll have to do that to S rank it anyway.

I just unlocked two new Expert stages. Haven't tried them yet.

I just hit 75.

3 attempts to get past it: Itemless, Disruption Delay, DD + Attack Up.

I got 5 extra hearts for my cache. Whee.

I only went to 50. I just go for the advertised prizes on the Escalation battles usually.

Caught Virizion on my first try. Beat Terrakion but just barely and haven't caught yet.

Anyone used some Mega Speedups yet?

I've dropped 3 so far: Gengar (to pump him to maximum awesome), Glaile (for Garchomp comp) and Lucario (for Darkrai). Still have 5 in the bank.


As tempting as it is to power up something like Ampharos to ridiculous levels, I'm eschewing the eggs in one basket approach in favour of doling them out evenly among my most used megas. That way no matter what type is being faced I'm likely to have at least a small benefit.

Cleared Lv100 on Darkrai. Bring items for the spike- Attack Up, DD, and +5, and I still finished with only 2 turns to spare.


Internet chatter seems to indicate up to 150 may be doable no items, so I'll keep going for now.

I've got one more stage to S rank (Gothorita), but I've caught all the available Pokemon (unless there's more Expert stages to unlock once I get my last S rank).

Edit: Used some items to get the last S Rank, which unlocks Cobalion in Expert.

Forget level 150.

The main levels are probably doable, but I have dropped over 20K coins on level 125 and failed every time. Level 150 would probably be worse.

Got up to Level 100. Foolishly went in guns blazing with just an Attack Up and Disruption Delay. If I'd gotten a +5 moves I might have pulled it off, but it would have been close. What team did you use, SL?
