deathly_hallows said:@Shadowlink The word "is" can be used correctly when stating an opinion. By simply stating something you are implying it's what you think.
Star Wars is a good movie. Star Wars is a bad movie. Star wars is a movie directed by George Lucas.
Opinion. Opinion. Fact. Surely you can tell the difference. I'm sure I could find a grammar nut to explain exactly why this is an incorrect statement, but surely you're able to understand the difference between ' I think Star Wars is a bad movie' and 'Star Wars is a bad movie'. Your thoughts on the Prime controls may be in fact your opinion, but it's a badly expressed one when you use absolute statements. Regardless of which, it's an opinion based on a fallacy, that's why it's invalid (not the 99% of people thing, although the two are related). If your cursor is jittery, it's because of *your* setup, not the nature of the controls themselves. And that's my pet peeve in all of this- You're blaming the game for a situation that is specific to you. (Which incidently is why 99% of people don't have an issue.) It's the same mentality thats causing you to ask questions about Wii Motion+ effects now that you're finding the controls are better than they were. Trilogy doesn't use Wii Motion+. In fact, Motion + has nothing to do with the IR aspect of the controls at all. More likely is that it has to do with either your distance from the TV, interference from other strong IR sources, or (like others have mentioned) the positioning of your sensor bar. Or some combination of the three. Something in your setup has changed. You can have the opinion that you don't like the controls, sure. I have no issue with that. But it's not the controls themselves that are bad. It's your interaction with them. EDIT: Oh boy, look what I found: deathly_hallows said:I know this is blasphemy to a lot of people but I try to avoid Wii games that use the IR or motion, it's my Gold Goldeneye classic controller all the way for me! (or the Wiimote turned on it's side, that's a good one)
Stylus is a whole nother matter, many of my favorite DS games (Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword or Phantom Hourglass for example) are controlled primarily via the stylus. I find it to be very precise and consistent whereas the Wii IR was always jumpy and jittery and awkward for me. This pretty much confirms it. Jittery IR across the board? Definitely your setup. The game is not the problem here. |
