I do not have the game yet but I really enjoyed the first one and look forward to picking this one up! The art style is unique and the gameplay is familiar but timeless. Plus, it just feels like these games are made with passion -- and that's important.

@NinSage

That part about passion really does shine through in Gunman Clive 2. There are a lot of little charming touches and details that show the game was made with care.

I've made my it about halfway through the game with Clive and Chieftain Bob. Clive plays just as well as before, while Chieftain Bob feels a bit faster. The main difference between the two is that Bob doesn't shoot enemies; instead, he pokes them with his spear at close range for twice the damage of Clive's bullets. This changes how you approach levels and play the game, since you don't have the choice of taking foes out from a safe distance. At times it's almost like playing a different game. Even with these differences, the levels are designed in a way that accommodates Bob well, while still feeling perfectly suited for Clive. It all works better than you might expect.

I also like the increased color palate. Seeing the color change with each new region of the world you traverse conveys a strong sense of progression.

Really, Gunman Clive 2 has been an ideal sequel so far. It expands upon what made the original fun, while expanding the scope and adding additional twists and flourishes to the familiar. Throw in a great soundtrack, some completely new mechanics, and new ways to play, and you've got a fantastic game.

Man, it seemed like it took forever for this game to be released. Sure, I want a game that is bug/glitch free, but I could swear that last year around e3, I either read/heard that Gunman Clive 2 was going to be released in the fall of 2014. My youngest son also loved the first game and he kept asking me if I heard anything about when this game was going to be released. I just downloaded the game along with Metroid Prime Trilogy, couldn't pass up three great games for only ten bucks. I've only play the first Prime and I got close to about halfway in Prime 2. I eneded up giving up on Prime 2 cause I was really getting confused between the light/dark areas.

I'm sure it will be awhile before I dive back into the metroid universe, but I couldn't pass up on such a great pricepoint! I also bought Galaxy 2, which I'm playing now. I held off on Punch Out, cause I knew that game would sit in my backlog for a long time and I'm sure at some point it will go on sale.

I made it to about stage 8 and so far so good, feels like the original, perhaps with a tad better level design and variety. I particularly enjoyed the Tetris platforming section

I finished the game with every character over the weekend. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I'm impressed by how many new things have been added to the game compared to the original. The final boss was particularly impressive.

I started it last night. It's so pretty!

Unfortunately, I didn't get very far. At some point the orange light LED on the 3DS flashed to indicate someone on my friends list was online, and it seemed to crash the game.

I thought the theme was a bit dark - I preferred the brighter colour palette used in the original.

Good game overall though. I'm replaying it on hard, and is it just me or is it impossible with Chieftain Tom? Am I missing something, because his attacks are so hard to land on the first boss...

So, finally got around to playing through this. Pretty solid. Much like the first game my only real complaints are that it is super short and doesn't really do much that other games haven't done before. I actually feel like this one started pretty slow but the last 1/3 or so has some really cool stuff in it. The dinosaur stages made me smile.
