I've recently started playing this game with Karen, and if you're looking for a co-op platformer, this is a good one.

The players control a princess or her fiance. Together, they have to push, pull, or swing around a chariot containing the remains of the deceased king. Latching the chariot to your character is done simply by pressing ZR while in range, and you remain tied to it until you let go. The L button pulls on the rope, and the ZL button gives some slack.

To progress, the most common maneuver you’ll use is pushing the chariot to out-of-reach platforms so you can use it as a stepping stool, then latch on to it and pull it up with you. In co-op, one player will frequently have to act as an "anchor" while the other, attached to the other end of the chariot, swings and tries to jump on otherwise unreachable platforms.

In co-op, communication is key, as one false move can mean dropping the chariot, which makes a loud noise that can attack critters who then steal whatever loot you’ve been collecting. There is no health in the game : your characters can’t die, and the chariot can’t break, but sometimes you’ll be carrying special items on the chariot, and you CAN lose those if you’re careless. And the loot you collect is used to purchase and upgrade items.

It looks like it’s a pretty meaty game. We’re just at level 1-4, which was incredibly long (and we haven’t explored it 100%). We’ve also found only one item so far, a hook you can tether the chariot to for a limited time.

I’m not sure what the experience of playing solo is like, but I do think some challenges are only accessible when you have 2 players.

This is on my wanted list, as it looks fantastic. I will be playing solo once I get it though...

@ludist210

I think you might miss out on some of the appeal of the game, but so far, it looks like only small sections of the levels will be closed off. I don't think it will penalize you too much. It certainly seems like there is enough game there for a solo player.

@Guillaume

That's good to know. I love the idea of this game, and the art style looks charming. Once I knock a few more titles off the ol' backlog, I'll download this one.

Welp, finally got around to picking this up. Want to try it co-op but we'll see if Shirley gets into it.

So I'm playing this single player...and it's good. I love the art style. However I'm only in world 2, and the levels feel like they drag on too long.

I'd probably enjoy this one more if I were playing it co-op. Single player works though.
