It's not even just Japanese stuff! Fun, gameplay-focused Western third-party games like Burnout have also started to disappear.

I mean, it COULD be that we're just cranky old man, but nahhhh...

Please tell me that you guys still play this since I just got myself a 3DS at long last, and I got this game since it was on sale in the eShop.

This is kinda interesting. Capcom announced that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has shipped 4 millions units of the game to date.

What's interesting is that they use the word "shipped" with this latest report. Not "sold" as they have in the past. Which, I mean, is still good.

....right?

Took me way to long to get this game. Maybe it was the fact that it launched with Majora's Mask and my priorities were there? I bought it on the black friday sale and my monster hunter addiction is coming back. I feel like an idiot for forgetting about the existence of this game. Time to hunt some monsters.

@Scrawnton Nice find. This game didn't seem as popular around here as MH3, and it fizzled out before very long, so it might be difficult getting a group together.

@GameDadGrant Oh I play pretty much exclusively online. I have no interest in the single player portion.

@Scrawnton Fair Warning, that's really going to bite you when you get to G-Rank. Like really hard.

I return to the single player after a gain a few HRs. I just like the multiplayer much more in this series.

@Scrawnton Unfortunately, in this game you have to play the single player to unlock certain features, such as being able to create decorations. You actually need to get pretty far to unlock an important item.

I don't like single player either, so I was definitely annoyed that I was forced to play it to gain some essential features.

Seriously, it's like you're trying to fight off a bullet train that's constantly coming after you. This guy makes the Black Diablos look merciful.

He's also one of the most fun monsters to hunt in the game,

Just for the record that last bonus palico they released is just the perfect setup for a defense Palico.

@GameDadGrant Don't worry. It's not like he can charge at you, do a complete U-Turn in barely half a second, and come back around for another pass.

Oh wait he can... Dang.

Geez. I don't think my dodging skills would be up-to-snuff to deal with that! Can you block him at all? Or will he just roll you?

@GameDadGrant hard to say, you can't block with a Switch Axe.

So, i'm gonna have to get some practice with Savage Jho so I can take him down in expeditions. He has enough health that him running away bc I can't kill him fast enough is actually a problem.

I'll just have to try to take on the elder hall version.

I should start playing this again.
