I was happy to see this on the VC, played it as a kid and now I'm reliving the memories.

The game is fun, but it's basically just pokemon card battles and deck building. Probably one of the simpler card games out there, but really fun and satisfying. I'm rocking the leaf deck and I recently added in some fire types in lieu of water types to better round out my deck. Anybody else playing this/played this game?

I played it back in the day and enjoyed it since I didn't get to play the actual card game much. If I remember right, I managed to recreate my IRL water/fighting deck. My big guns were Blastoise, Poliwrath, Gyarados, Dewgong, Machamp, Golem, Hitmonlee, and Hitmonchan.

@nate38

I did the same thing with my Water/Psychic deck, when I first played this. (On emulator, oops )

I have no idea how I would have fared in a Real Life competitive battle (I never did have anyone to play with), but I thought I put together a pretty solid deck. Can't remember the specifics now, but I do know I built it around a Blastoise with Rain Dance to pump everyone with water energy, and an Alakazam with Damage Swap to freely shift damage across my bench. I may have paired that with Pokemon Centre? Was that the card that lets you heal all bench damage or something?

Yeah. Good times. Must pick this up.

I've got my eye on this, but not sure if I'll grab it just yet. I'm currently playing Omega Ruby, so I'm kind of fully invested in a full-fledged Pokémon game at the moment. Not sure I need to add another content-rich Pokémon game on top of that. Which is of course, on top of two (!) versions of Super Smash Bros. right now. (and A Link Between Worlds, thanks to NewGameBer!)

I had the cartridge when I was younger, but I must have sold it since I can't find it anymore. Bummer, because I seem to recall enjoying it quite a bit.
