@Anand I'm personally glad that supply has caught up with demand, since it means if I want any figures then I could get them for the normal price, or maybe even less. As far as collectors go, I think that will continue even as supply increases. I mean, people still bought up the extremely common figures like Mario, so I don't think it was the limited supply that was attracting collectors (just what attracted scalpers). Lots of people love to collect, lots of people love Nintendo stuff, and those people will collect the figures regardless of rarity. And then you still have people who buy just a few figures anyway, getting the characters they want, or the ones people want to use in games. Most of the characters Nintendo have released don't really have other merchandise out there, especially not some up to the good quality of these figures. In short, yeah, the mania has died down, but I think the figures will remain popular for various reasons. |
