amiibo is certainly turning out to be a big thing in Nintendo's eyes. Whether or not the rewards for utilizing each amiibo is worthy to you, Nintendo plans to implement all sorts of bonuses. It appears right now that every amiibo is meant to do 'something' in each game though games not featuring certain characters may have more limited uses or lesser-valued ones. We've had plenty of threads on here for amiibo and I'm sure that will continue. Still, I wanted to establish a general discussion thread that doesn't have a specific focus or thought. So what's this bullshit about a Gamestop Exclusive 3-pack bundle of Game and Watch, Duck Hunt, and someone else… while also being in-store only for pre-order on 8/8, and if you have paid to be a Elite Power Up Rewards member or whatever you get in an hour early….

If that's true then this is truly the epitome of shitty situations. What a way to take a Teachable Moment and turn it into a a worse system. Wow. Really makes me want to continue purchasing these things from other regions. And speaking of… while I was down south these arrived…

I heard that they are supposed to be Gamestop Exclusive but perhaps the bundle and preorder is only the exclusive. A 3-pack exclusive to one store seems really weird and not logical… We are supposed to hear the official announcement today.

Sorry, I'm not of the same school of thought. As a Paid Power Up Rewards member, I see this as a "FINALLY" sort of moment. The pressure is off (for me), and I"ll be guaranteed this probably-going-to-be-elusive 3-Pack. Ness was a nightmare, and Shulk seemed like a steaming pile of 'uh oh' for people who didn't reserve him back before Christmas. This time? Not so much.

The card itself isn't that bad a deal. If you get used games, that helps out big time (I don't, and still enjoy it). Every purchase earns you points, and then you can trade them in for cool stuff, and even money off of purchases. You basically print coupons after a while. I decided to get myself a sweet Jek Porkins shirt, though they screen printed it a little goofy. What can ya do. I don't think that was "GameStop" so much as "jerk who made my shirt." Anywho..

Also, new information seems to say that there is no earlier bonus for being a member but that this exclusive 3-pack is a legit thing that will happen.

Not sure. I know that one of the guys I was in line with (really cool guy) is getting one this week. He doesn't sound pissed, so I'll guess "no." And I don't know what you mean about the "new information" thing, but I've been told by GameStop themselves that they're opening early for members. Now what?

Oh man, I've got to Olimar! And now my son is suddenly a full on Pokémon freak. I'll need to get Pikachu for sure, maybe Charizard if I'm lucky and run into him in the wild.

So I did the math. Shipping is a little over 7 bucks from Michigan to Washington. Thus to break even the total cost with shipping is $29.00. I paid over 20 bucks for the Charizard initially which I hope pays off so I could get someone it but I know it's beyond the normal value of the item.

I understand if you don't want it but if you find it worth it still I'm happy to sell it. It's just going to sit here otherwise waiting for a home.
